Excellent book, but beware buying hard copies here on Amazon...2 of 3 were terrible misprints
I initially bought two of these books here from Amazon. One had a glossy cover, the other had a dull, matte cover and a sticker over the original bar code with a different bar code. The dull-cover, stickered book was a serious mis print where the page order was hilariously jumbled and it was unreadable. I returned it and bought a third book (I want two hard copies for my employee and I) and the third book was also the dull-cover, stickered misprint. So 2 of 3 paperbacks of this book I got from Amazon were garbage and an attempt was made to cover the original bar code so it could still be sold. Hopefully, after the 4th try, I'll finally have 2 books that can be read. The book itself (audible or paperback) is amazing and incredibly useful, but you're playing russian roulette buying the paperback here on Amazon and you might be returning it. So far, I'm 1 for 3 on getting a book that isn't a laughable misprint.

When I purchased Woessnerโs book, I knew little of podcasting. Yet, after reading his book in an afternoon, I was able to produce a professional podcast that has performed well for my purpose. Step by Step Book!
I bought this book, both in audio and kindle format. I have to say Profitable Podcasting is a great guide to get you started with podcasting. I even spoke with Stephen, the author of the book, through email. He was accommodating in answering questions and clarifying points from the book. I recommend this book if you are planning to start a podcast for you or your company. The practical steps are tremendous, and Stephen focuses on reliable guidance and not just storytelling.

Holy Bananas this book is amazing! I just finished it and it is THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to not only creating a podcast but on how to use it as a marketing/sales tool. I extra love this book because not only did I enjoy reading it, I actually use Stephen's system and am living/walking proof that his system works. In fact, since I started working with Stephen, my podcast has become my CORE marketing tool. Thank you Stephen for writing this book. Your mission to educate and innovative is spot on!!!

Stephen goes into great detail describing equipment
I purchased both the Kindle and Audio versions. Very informative and helpful if you are looking to start your own podcast. The book is not just a pep talk about the benefits of podcasting or a beginner's guide. Stephen goes into great detail describing equipment, software, recording techniques and marketing. The audio book is easy listening but a printed copy, or at minimum a kindle version is advised if you wish to see samples and charts.

Good for actual businesses, but not people looking to expand their own podcast.
I had noticed this book earlier in the year at a local bookstore and figured, at some point, it'd be a good resource to expand my podcast's fan outreach. I've been podcasting for ten years, as of this writing, and was looking for ways to build my fanbase and to improve my content and marketing. Instead, "Profitable Podcasting" turned out to be a book centered around business and using a podcast as a means of selling products or services. Essentially, it's a book about how a business can bring in more revenue by interviewing important prospective clients within their field and, hoping, that those interviewees will be their potential clients. Listeners are sort of an afterthought in terms of whether or not they purchase the products or services. Most of the chapters involve looking at your own business an figuring out how to improve it so your can sell whatever it is you're trying to sell effectively on the podcast. But, if you're like me (someone who isn't selling anything other than my love of a particular subject matter through a podcast and looking to simply improve his content and expand his fanbase), there's little to learn here. I gave the book two stars, because 1) It is mainly business-focused and 2) much of that information is based around using your existing business to sell your product or service through a new platform (podcasts). However, there are nougats of decent information here that can help most podcasters in some fashion. For example, I found the idea of figuring out the top fifty people a person should interview in their respective area to be enlightening and a good way of, potentially, building a larger fanbase by attempting to get powerhouse guests onto the podcast. Also, focusing more on what I wish to provide, as content, and sticking to that, rather than drifting off into other camps a bit, was interesting as well. While all of that seems like common knowledge, well, if it was, everyone would have a top iTunes podcast. In the end, if you have a business, and are looking to try and make extra cash, then you might want to check this out. But for general podcasters, such as myself, looking to simply expand our outreach, there isn't much to be had here. You'd be better off looking for a more podcast-centric book that doesn't deal with trying to sell anything other than your podcast.

It is what it is.
It was ok, but not the best book on the subject.

Don't Start a Podcast Without this Guide!
I saw so much value in this book, I bought it twice! First, I downloaded it for listening through Audible, then quickly realized that I'd need the hardcopy as well. There is zero wasted space in this book. Everything you need is here, and if it's not, Stephen generously provides it for you as a download from his website. I continue to listen, then refer back to the book as I attempt to mimic the slick process that Predictive ROI has established.

Liked the Trojan horse but the rest was a bit plane
The book covers many aspects of producing a podcast with several step by step guides but a lot is still missing and it doesnโt really go as deep as I had hoped for. The last chapter about recruiting interns seems so off-topic that is lowered my overall impression with at least one star...
