Works Well
This illuminometer is a rather affordable device for measuring light levels. Buttons are clearly marked for simple operation, and you can detach the photodetector with its retractable cord. You can also measure in different modes like lumen or footcandles.I do not have any other devices to test against for accuracy, however things seem within a range I would expect from research.I do have issues with the detector coming off a bit too easily and accidently.I think this is a solid budget tool, it provides a good value for the money if you can't dish out for more expensive devices and dont need the 100% best accuracy

Won’t Stay Attached
The concept of having a removable sensor is very cool, but the mechanism that they used to secure the sensor to the body of the unit is very flimsy. The cable that connects the sensor to the device is very thin and prone to breaking. Had to return it.

More accurate at higher lumen
For the price, this is not a bad little illuminometer. It’s simple to operate with clearly marked and easy to understand buttons on the face. The photodetector is detachable with a retractable cord. I did find that the photodetector comes off a little too easy and it’s a bit clumsy putting it back on the frame due to having to line up the cord retractor in the cavity before it will fit properly. It measures lumen or footcandles depending on your preference.I did a few side-by-side tests under controlled lighting to see how accurate the readings are. I used a couple of older Sekonic meters, the digital meter was a Sekonic C-500 color meter and the analog instrument is a Sekonic 246 illuminometer.Since this product states that it was calibrated with a 2875 kelvin bulb I first laid all three meters under a 3200k light source. The test devices read 59fc and 62fc while the At about 60 fc it’s a relatively low light situation and the KE-881C read 45 fc. The accuracy was off by almost 25%. I tried swapping positions of the three meters to double check whether placement had an effect, but it didn’t.I then took the meters outside on the front porch. It was a bright sunny day and laid the three meters on the concrete in the shade. The ceiling of the porch is tan colored with white rock wall next to them. The color temperature read 5100k. In this scenario, all three meters had virtually identical readings. I was really happy with the result. One thing to note. The KE-881C is a continuous reading so the display tends to drift around a bit. The picture I took happened to capture the moment when it was right in line with the other two meters. At low light, this product is not so accurate but at higher light levels it tends to be accurate. I suppose some more testing I could figure out where the accuracy falls off.Again, for the price, this is not a bad tool to have for an inexpensive way to measure illumination.
