Has the exact same functionality as the Nikon version for £200 less.
Considering that the Nikon version costs £200 more, you cannot fault this. all the buttons work as they should including being able to reassign the AEL button as a back button focus, there is some very slight movement once attached but i've done several shoots of up to 6hrs and it's been perfect. having that extra battery to extend shooting time makes such a difference as well as the comfort when working in portrait8 months on an update to my review. The fit to the body of my D610 is really poor, there's a clear gap all the way around and the battery is constantly being used even when switched off because it keeps going 'live'

Looks OK, but works not so well
First of all: English is not my native language so excuse me for some faults. When i got this grip for my nikon D600 i was very happy with the look and feel of it. but sadly, it is still a cheap grip.Pro's:- Looks and feels great in the hand;- Vertical shutter works;- Grip works with single battery in the camera without battery in the grip itself.Con's:- Grip forces camera to have no power whatever to power-up at times even when with the battery in the camera;- The green "work-light" on the Nikon body keeps flashing when attached, so i think there is a problem with the connection between the grip and camera even when the grip is attached firmly.Overall:I'm sending it back to Meike for a refund, because in situations where you need to use your camera fast you can't trust on the grip because of the error's and faults it sends to the camera.

Doesn't fit the camera properly. Visible right through gaps between the camera and grip - doesn't line up with the edges of the camera either. Surface finish not the same or similar to the camera. Is cheap, looks cheap.

Great value for money
Exact copies of the real Nikon MB-D14, but all quality moulded plastic. This means it's lighter than the metal Nikon grip, and 'warmer' to the touch. At the price, these Meike grips are really great.
