It is working well after the plumber install it with the new water heater and piping. It is value for money as the price is lower than buying from the big brand 'Sxxxxfxx'.

What to say about an expansion tank? I’m not a plumber. This was a DIY installation of an under sink water heater. A compression fitting is needed to attach it. It is heavy when filled with water so can’t rely on the pipes to support, so it would have been useful to have included a bracket. I had to improvise a strap. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

I plumbed in an undersink heater a few years ago, and included one of these in the setup. It doesn't leak and apparently does its job perfectly.

We had a loose section of polypipe in a wall and the washing machine caused it to make a noise when filling the machine. This is due to the washing machine water valve being an on/off type of arrangement rather than a gradual open and close like a tap.This on/off of the water flow means that the kinetic energy the flowing water has is brought to an abrupt stop and this can be transmitted back up the pipe as water hammer.Fitting one of these expansion vessels close to the washing machine allows for that kinetic energy to be absorbed inside the expansion vessel by the inflatable bladder rather than shocking your pipe work.You'll need a copper to iron fitting and a rubber washer to get it to seal, don't try a fibre washer as they just don't seal properly. You may be able to get a tap connector hose to work if you get stuck.

Please note this a 'copy' kit that does not contain Ariston parts (hence the 3 star rating). It contains a Varem, 2 litre expansion tank and a Masterflow check valve. Whilst these appear to be quality parts and will do the same job, the description is misleading. I will be fitting these items to my system, in good faith that they will do the same job and be as reliable as Ariston parts, but I think people should be made fully aware of what they are buying.
