Let’s start with the honest truth: the smell of this Himalayan yak cheese is absolutely brutal. As a first-time buyer, I had no idea what to expect, and the second I broke open the package, I was hit with a scent that I can only describe as straight-up "toe cheese." It is definitely not a treat meant for human noses. Apart from that funk, though, it arrived incredibly fresh and didn't have any kind of stale odor to it.I actually wasn't even sure if my 6-year-old chocolate Lab, Mambo, would even like it. He can be unpredictably picky and is honestly a bit of a cheese snob! Plus, the chew itself is extremely hard, but Mambo is a power chewer, so it ended up being the perfect texture for him.The absolute instant I opened the bag, his nose went into overdrive. He started exploring the air, completely transfixed by the scent. Once I finally handed it over, he stopped, gave me this hilarious "O-boy!" look, and immediately went into full celebration mode. He did a joyful little dance and threw in a few play bows before settling down to chew. I seriously wish I had recorded his reaction because it was pure comedy.Needless to say, this chew is an absolute hit. Judging by his pure joy, I can only surmise that the taste is a 10 out of 10. If you can stomach a few seconds of a funky smell for the sake of your dog's absolute happiness, this long-lasting treat is worth every single penny. Mambo approved!

This Himalayan Dog Chew has won 5 stars in our household. We have a 15kg, 5 month old Groodle who is a heavy chewer…rocks, sticks …you name it! We purchased a large Yak Cheese Chew stick two weeks ago. Our pup chews it heavily, multiple times a day and it is still going strong. It has broken in half but only because our toddler threw it into concrete. Otherwise it is rock solid.Pros- Our dog chooses it over other sticks, rocks etc.- It keeps him occupied for hours each day, both inside the house and outside while we are out- It doesn’t splinter - slowly disintegrates - he kind of grates it off and it can make a mess still but nothing like the splintered sticks he was leaving everywhere- I don’t need to worry about him digesting plastic or rope that breaks off like I do with other chew toysCons- It does still smell a little once wet with dog slobber, but nothing like meat based chews. I’d much rather the smell of the cheese any day!We will definitely be purchasing again whenever he finally gets through this one. Well worth the money!

We have purchased this 3 times and keep coming back for more. We tried another brand in the XL size because our dog is a 9 month old/55 lb Lab, but it was a bust. Not only was the other brand not the same quality, but if he flipped it in the air (it’s just so exciting!) then they would snap in half upon landing and we would end up with two pieces smaller than this one and need to throw them away for safety issues. An effort to save money by buying a pack of bigger ones from another brand ended up costing more. Not anymore. We come straight here to restock.I still haven’t figured out the cheese puff thing but hopefully one day. Either way, out pup loves these! They last a long time with our impressive chewer and they’re a safe alternative to any bullystick which he will chew for ten minutes and swallow whole. We feel like this is the safest thing we can offer him. Highly recommend!!
