Perfect...for a while
Bought this to run Opnsense. It's an outstanding piece of hardware. I also bought two AC Infinity MULTIFAN S4, Quiet 140mm USB Fans so it never even gets warm. I only run Opnsense on it. I thought about running a Linux distro and then adding Opnsense as a docker, but didn't want any added issues down the line. Maybe it's overkill just using it as a router/firewall, but I'm funny that way. Currently, I have Unbound, ClamAV, DNSMasq DNS, Elasticsearch, Intrusion Detection, Maltrail, Monit and Netdata running within Opnsense and the CPU usage stays around 1% to 3%, but jumps to 10% sometimes. Also, I purchased the barebone version and bought:Samsung 980 SSD 1TB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL22 CT2K16G4SFRA32AYou can get version that comes with it's own memory and storage if you want, but it's better to buy your own memory and storage. Other than that if you're looking to run Opnsense or pfSense as a docker I'm sure it can handle whatever you throw at it.**UPDATE** November 19, 2024Died on November 19, 2024. It was giving me problems for the past two months then died on me. It lasted 17 months. I even had a fan running on it to keep it cool. Never dropped or misused. This will be the last product I buy from this company.**UPDATE** November 24, 2024Correction the unit didn't die it was the power cord that came with it that died. After replacing the power cord the unit powered up and is working fine. I also did some research and found that most if not all of the firewalls that are sold on Amazon that have this design are made by one company CWWK.

impressive mini pc but issues with wifi
overall quite impressive mini pc that in my case worked well with openwrt, pfsense, debian linux and proxmox. a bit dissapointed with wifi, as it is a pcie with usb interface and will not work with 99% of "normal" pcie wifi modules. the only one with decent speed I was able to find was WFUR-6 that you only can buy as used. also there was quite a thick layer of paste between cpu and heatsink, adding a copper shim in between reduced temps by 10C. today I would probably go for an N100 though as it is supposed to be better performing at a lower power consumption.

Seems nice, but not impressed
I purchased this device as a replacement for a replacement for a 10 year old mini-PC running PFSense and after using it for a year am not impressed.First complaint is that when the power is plugged in, but the unit is powered off, the ethernet status lights will come on and blink normally. Never seen anything like that before. Secondly, the power supply included had damaged cables and looked to be in poor shape, but it functioned. Thirdly, a BIOS update is not readily available thought may exist on MFR's website if you can read Chinese. Fourth, the HDMI port on this device has some compatibility issues, a minor issue since it is normally headless, but using it during setup or debugging can be frustrating as known good monitor setups just might not work. The SSD installed internally failed within 30 days, the replacement for that drive is currently failing. I've had three hard drive failures in the last 10 years and this device caused two of them. The temperature sensor may be faulty as mine is reporting 27.9C constantly and is unaffected even after being placed upside down on a laptop cooling pad (photo). This device is quirky and not something I would recommend if you need a bulletproof solution.
