The Fossil Girl: Mary Anning's Dinosaur Discovery

Beautifully illustrated but I would have liked more on her later discoveries too. Also a bit uncomfortable with the negative depiction of Christianity; the only Christian figure is a ranting fanatic waving a cross and there is a suggestion that the Bible is incompatible with the old earth theory although many Christian's can easily reconcile the Bible and an earth of millions of years. It's a strange bias for a book about Miss Anning who was a devout Dissenter all her life.

Great book. My 7 year old is a all about fossils at the moment and really enjoyed reading this.

Short and sweet. 7 year old girl enjoyed this. She used it for a project at school. Nice and rare to hear about a successful female scientist from times gone by.

Great book but it feels very cheaply printed. Not sturdy at all by normal picture book paperback standards.

This book is ok but I won't be using it to support the teaching about Mary Anning. Instead it can be used as a book for the children to look at during the topic. I thought it would be better, just not my kind of book.

Great book. Comic book style, with a short paragraph and painting of the real Mary Anning at the back, easy to follow and understand for my child who is 3. Arrived promptly within a few days, and well in time for our holiday to the Jurassic coast! Thanks.
