wartime Germany
I have read all five books on the subject by the author and a true insight into life in Germany for women during and after the war.

Another superb Tim Heath book!
If you have read any of Tim Heaths previous works on WW2 Third Reich Germany you will know that you are always in for a highly informative and excellent reading experience. Sex Under the Swastika is not easy reading, it's a mixture of dark and light, it's highly provocative and it doesn't beat about the Bush. This is how history should be told. That said this is powerful reading which will leave you with conflicting emotions. Well worth 5 stars and highly recommended.

what is Amazon playing at?
I really enjoyed this book and have now tried on 2 occasions to publish a review and it would appear I am infringing Amazon publishing rules. This is a book that deals with sex and the attitude of sex under the nazis, and I therefore must discuss this within the context of my review. If only Amazon would agree :(

A necessary exploration.
As controversial as such history is, this book explores a perspective of this topic that has not been explored enough. With all the books and considerations of WWII, Nazi Germany, and pre-Nazi Germans out there, very rarely do they take into consideration the female perspective of those whom lived through those periods of history. Not only that, but it used the primary sources of such women and the many interviews the author was lucky enough to accumulate before I’m sure they’ve since passed on. And not just any primary perspective, but ones that delve into the most intimate look into personal lives and the drastic shift from pre-Nazi Germany to Germany under the NSDAP in terms of sex and the social understanding of it.Only criticism is that I wish the book cited its sources as the bib list is extremely short. But maybe that couldn’t be done if the interviewer women did not want to be cited 🤔But highly recommend the book as it’s extremely interesting and provides a far different perspectives than all the other publications out there!
