A truly GREAT watch - at a fantastic price for the quality.
I love this watch - it has a really good heavy feel to it, and it feels like a much more expensive watch than it is. A decidedly different quality from the retail shop fashion watch I had bought - which cost £25 and lasted 2 months.I was worried this watch would look too large on my wrist (which is very small) but it doesn't; it looks the size of an average mans watch. The face is really clear, the cream colour has real depth, the matt black surround feels really substantial, and the matt black hands and numbers show up really clearly. The calendar lens with the date is quite small - I have to look carefully to see what it says. But the rest of it is so beautiful I will happily put up with that., The night light system is fantastic - I can even work out the time without my glasses on when I cannot see the numbers at all. The leather strap has an oiled leather look to it, and so far has proven to be very substantial, despite having been in the washing up water a few times. The strap is also malleable and very easy to wear. This is definitely not the Timex of my childhood, which had put me off them - I thought - forever. A really good buy, which has been commented on favourably many times,

The ultimate budget Field watch
What can I say but simply this is an amazing classic field watch. It's got a bit of heft to it as well its not light, I like that. Very rebust feeling and the Indiglo feature is cool. The leather strap is great and long enough for my 8 inch wrist. It's looks amazing on wrist. I would love a Hamilton but this beauty will do me just fine. I do have a few other Timex Expedition watches but this one is my favourite with its even more classic field watch looks. They are all top class quality watches. Love Timex.

Great, strong and fireproof, but a little noisy
I have used this watch now for a few months and purchased as I needed a 'daily' that was robust. I work as a firefighter so the watch can find itself subject to wet, dry, cold, hot, day, and night.I had just broken two other watches so didn't hold much hope for toughness. But on that front, this watch has not let me down. It has been very robust and clearly the Timex quality shows through. In terms of features, this watch also surprises. Yes, I knew the face would illuminate but I was surprised by just how much it did and with such a light pressure on the crown. This came in handy on a number of jobs where it was pitch black but I needed to note time. The dials also have luminescence so even without the backlight it was easy to see in bed.The accuracy and motion are the only two very minor criticisms. The accuracy seems to have dropped a second or two Vs my trusty but old automatic motion watches, off considering it is a Quartz. The motion used is also very loud. I could hear the ticking from my wrist in a waiting room, and if wearing to bed I can hear it through the pillow. Versus a Fossil Quartz I had, this motion is notably louder by at least double. Very liveable but as a result I prefer to wear my Vostok or Seiko 5 automatics despite their greater fragility.Overall, highly recommend as this is very durable, used by me very frequently, and has survived fire related work abuse very well versus other brands double the money inc a Seiko 5 Sport (lost a crystal), Fossil Quartz (chipped crystal and stopped ticking, presumed flat), and a Rotary automatic (seized the balance spring). But if you get irritated by sounds, you may be best to avoid.

Great watch, Timex never lets me down
Timeless Timex. Pretty much since being taught to tell the time I've worn a Timex except for a few years in the 80's wearing a Casio databank, who didn't in those days.Clear easy to read watch even with my failing eyes and no readers the hands are very easily legible.Would I buy one again? Of course, value for money, durability and even able to see the time with its built in light without looking at your phone when you're bursting for your 3am pee. Old age comes to us all if we're lucky enough.

Oddly satisfying....for a short time
I've long been a fan of field watches and just collecting watches in general. What i like is their simple, clear and functional face that's easy to get the time in a quick glance.Generally speaking a field watch should be accurate, robust and water resistant enough that in can take whatever is thrown at it in the great outdoorsThis little gem from Timex is 'almost' perfect, just upping the 50 metres water resistant to 100 metres would have been very welcome, though not absolutely essential, just a shame.Although its quite light at 63 grams, it still feels fairly robust and the finish looks like it'll take a fair bit of abuse.Size is very small, up to most of my watches, though it has to be said that i think that 40mm sized watches seem to be that 'perfect' size, regardless of wrist size. I can't really describe why, but it just feels 'right', so comfortable and unobtrusive. The strap feels surprisingly good quality, which was definitely more than i expected at this price, the leather feels thick and durable. There are better spec'd options for less, I bought a similar lorus that has a stainless steel case (as opposed to this one being brass) and with 100 metres water resistance, yet somehow this Timex just feels so 'RIGHT' on the wrist and it looks more suited to the outdoors.I've had many Timex watches over the years and NONE have disappointed, this is without doubt one of my favourites from them.Accuracy is excellent (as expected), as it's a quartz movement, it'll ALWAYS be accurate and reliable, unlike an automatic watch, which aren't much use for everyday wear, why pay more for less functionalty, durability and accuracy? This is undoubtedly one of Timex best watches in its price range, the backlight is excellent and this is a truly fantastic 'taster' of a field watch in design and functionality.Update after a few months:Its taken me a long time to get round to writing this, but after around 5 months the battery died, so i bought a new battery thinking it would be a very easy job to do (like most watches) WRONG, the cover came off easy enough, BUT replacing it after the battery change was IMPOSSIBLE, it was so unbelievably tight fitting that the force needed to put it back on ended up smashing the mineral glass!!Timex clearly aren't what they used to be and this is undoubtedly the LAST timex I'll EVER BUY.There are VASTLY better quality watches from China that make this look like something that fell out of a Christmas cracker and for LESS money.NEVER AGAIN.

Loud
No matter what you think loud is for a watch this is off the charts. From five feet away you can hear it thumping away.I normally wear an automatic and this is a watch for working in the garden and holidays so maybe I'm not used to it, but then I wouldn't think that you should be hearing it from that far away either. The indiglo back light works by pressing the crown in. Nice feature, but I genuinely don't see it surviving getting knocked too hard in that area.On balance a relatively inexpensive and good looking watch that for me is let down by the loudness of the movement

Great watch
There's not a lot to dislike about this watch, it's super comfortable and looks great with any outfit, the gunmetal grey looks fantastic as well.I love the indigo backlight, the hands also glow in the dark so you can see the time whenever you need to.Only minor downside is the ticking can be loud at night time so you have to put it in a draw or leave it in another room to sleep, during the day time you don't hear anythingThe only watch I own, I may buy more Timex watches but this is great for anyone

Idealny
