Excellent book if you want to improve your English vocabulary, with a lot of exercises, examples and practical tips. it's not a grammar book.

I found this a very good book to learn specific vocabulary on specific topics. It is good not only for IELTS test, but even if you just want to improve your vocabulary since it has good exercices on interesting and contemporary topics. Recommended!

This book is the most comprehensive book for IELTS. Content of this title is very advanced and it contains a lot of exercises and there is a wordlist at the back. What is particularly useful, it provides all necessary collocations. It is definitely the best book for IELTS and must have for everyone

The book looks very helpful, but it came with no CD, so how am I supposed to do the exercises without the recordings?

Gostei. O livro é um ótimo guia pois apresenta vocabulário essencial para 20 assuntos diferentes (que se dividem em 2 temas). Além disso, possui alertas de erro comuns no IELTS e notas com palavras que podem causar confusão. Apesar de os capítulos serem bem curtos, a abordagem é bem direta e os exercícios/áudios muito bem aplicados. Se você assistir vídeos no youtube e/ou ler textos na web referente aos assuntos abordados vai encontrar as palavras-chave com certeza e ao mesmo tempo complementar a memorização das palavras novas. O livro apresenta capítulos destinados especificamente ao IELTS e é classificado como C1 - C2 (Advanced) e tende a focar na versão acadêmica do teste. Para o nível upper-intermediate (B2-C1) existe a versão Vocabulary for IELTS.

Ich habe mir das Buch zur Vorbereitung auf eine Englisch-Klausur auf C2-Niveau im Studium gekauft. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und kann es nur weiterempfehlen, da das Buch sehr gut strukturiert ist und die Aufgaben so konzipiert sind, dass man tatsächlich die meisten Collocations und Vokabeln behält nach einmaligem Bearbeiten der Aufgaben. Da das Buch in sehr viele kleine themenspezifische Kapitel unterteilt ist (z.B. Politics, Medicine, Environment, Social skills...) kann man auch Kapitel überspringen wenn man der Meinung ist, in diesem Bereich bereits einen guten Wortschatz zu haben. Alle Audios auf der CD sind zudem transkribiert im Anhang zu finden inklusive Lösungen. Um Vokabeln und vor allem Collocations zu lernen ist das Buch spitze!

Ottimo libro da accompagnare ad un libro di preparazione al test IELTS vero e proprio. Il libro è strutturato per capitoli in argomenti e propone diversi "giochi da settimana enigmistica" in cui ti sprona ad utilizzare un determinato tipo di vocabolario. al fine di ogni capitolo c'è un'esercitazione per una piccola parte del test IELTS. Perfetto per ampliare il proprio vocabolario e nel mentre prendere la mano con gli esami IELTS (che però vanno preparati nel libro specifico)
