Homeland - Season 1-5

Great series enjoyed watching it

Thrilling. I remember how much I enjoyed this when it was first shown on television, and the First Series is excellent in all respects. Fine acting (I would love to play the part of Saul, a marvelous performance by Mandy Patinkin) and enough twists and cliffhanger moments in the plot to keep you guessing - whatever next ? I never saw that coming ! I am really looking forward to viewing the following series.

Purchase to first time watch during lockdown. British and American Actors. Politics, Intelligence Services, human frailty, conflicts of interest, patriotism, betrayal, suffering family relationships, the trauma of “war” v. the conflict of ethics and integrity, mental health, the hiding of truth, fact, grooming, traitor, many areas covered. Well acted, but some of the lines are a “bit thin”, eg the actors do their best with some repetition. A shame, because the Bourne series come to mind, it could be as good as that. Having said that, I am fascinated by the U.S. depicted here, trained intelligence officers trying to infiltrate potential terrorist criminal activity, whilst trying to maintain some normality, and family life. How do ordinary human beings live with the disappearance of their husbands, wives, fathers, and nothing known for years at a time. And the mental health of individuals in any real life role facing or dealing with any of this. I am hoping the series does not become soapy, or the use of swearing and sex not a substitute for real story telling.

After listening to all the praise for the show and trying the first few episodes I bought the box set. Can't say I was disappointed. Season 1-3 excellent, season 4 is a bit ropey but 5 is back to being excellent. Really recommend to someone who enjoys a box set.

We bought this as a holiday treat - something to watch together in the evenings. The storylines are good - with good acting and good surprising twists in the plots. But the level of sexual content, cursing, and aggressive blaspheming is excessive and unnecessary - it detracts from the enjoyment of the viewing. I know it's a 15, but I'd be embarrassed to watch this with most of my adult friends and parents in the room with me!

DVDs arrived on time, no problem there. I have been very disappointed to find out that the sound quality comes and goes. I have to watch the dvd's with the subtitles on, as the sound is there one minute and gone the next. It was stated that there may be some damage or wear and tear to the box etc but that the discs would be in perfect working condition. They are most definitely not. The storyline is fabulous, gripping and exciting.....just such a shame I can't rely on the sound.

Bought as a gift, a good series.

Seguo la serie tv "Homeland" dal suo esordio televisivo nel 2011 e la trovo eccellente. E' un telefilm emozionante che unisce splendidi personaggi, trame appassionanti e numerosi riferimenti alla contemporaneità. "Homeland" ti coinvolge perché è una serie tv ben fatta, ma riesce anche a farti riflettere su tematiche riguardanti la politica internazionale, il terrorismo e la politica interna americana. Se siete appassionati di spy-story, secondo me è ottima. Questo cofanetto comprende le prime 5 stagioni di "Homeland" (in tutto sono 8) a un prezzo eccezionale, dato che al momento costa poco meno di 20 euro. Non so se il prezzo crescerà in futuro, ma se parlate inglese e non avete problemi a seguire un telefilm in lingua originale, l'acquisto per me è consigliatissimo. NON è presente la lingua italiana, né nell'audio né nei sottotitoli, quindi si tratta di un prodotto consigliato, lo ribadisco, a chi ha dimestichezza con l'inglese. Si tratta di un cofanetto regione 2, quindi visibile in Europa. L'ho regalato ad alcuni amici (il prezzo, ripeto, al momento è imperdibile) che l'hanno apprezzato molto. Il servizio di Amazon è stato, come sempre, impeccabile. Buona visione!
