Warm coat
Delivery of the coat was prompt, and on unpacking my order I was completely surprised as to how light the parka was because in the details it stated that this coat was "an extra heavy coat " which turned out to be further from the truth.I am a 5'11" man and I originally ordered a medium but according to Amazon I would suit a large fit and so throwing caution to the wind I went ahead and ordered a large which turned out to be spot on!!!!!! So thank you Amazon!I've worn my coat in very blustery wet weather the rain wasn't that heavy but it kept me dry and warm but why I didn't notice this in the first place is beyond me, the coat has no presstuds to really keep the coat secure on fastening. It's only a zip and velcro!!! And I suppose after time the velcro goes through wear and tear and therefore it won't knit together that we'll anymore....Update Feb 2022 Not happy with the coat for two simple reasons, when a storm kicks in like it as been over these last few days, and you put the hood up to keep the rain off and the cold out , You need to pull the hood cord to tighten it and this stops the wind from blowing the hood off. Well when you've pulled and tightened the cord what happens is is that there's gaps in between the fur and the hood therefore allowing the wind to come through, and secondly, the most annoyingly thing happens when you zip the coat up and the material keeps getting caught up in the zip, this happens intermittently and is so frustrating. I regret buying this coat now......

Really heavy and difficult to wear, one needs to get used to it.
I wanted to have something warm. I don't mind very heavy coats, I had many in the past, but this is way too much! Unless you don't mind having the feeling of carrying stones on you all the time, don't buy it. It is really impractical. Maybe if you are living somewhere in cold Siberia or Alaska at -40 degrees, you won't mind the weight. But it is advertised on Amazon UK and you would extremely rarely need it here.I am an XL and I bought an L, because of the reviews that warned that I should buy a lower size. It is still huge, especially at the belly area. Does having wide chest necessarily mean you have a huge belly?! On the other hand the arms are quite tight, who designed this?Other issues:1) The hood is also impractical, you either use it, or completely remove it. There is no other alternative, you cannot just simply put it behind your head because it is so thick that it will come back to your head anyway.2) You can't really use it with a rucksack. When you want to remove the rucksack, the whole coat will come down too (they stick together).3) It is so bulky that it is almost impossible to bend your arms and reach the pockets.4) I don't have in general anything against good quality synthetic material, but this one is really unpleasant to wear, completely unbreathable and one feels that it sticks everywhere to your body.I will keep it for my future expeditions to Antarctica ;-(Update: I think my previous one star score was too low. I am starting to get used to it. After a few uses it seems more flexible now. I still consider that it is not perfect (for the same reasons as above). Therefore my updated review of four stars only,

Very good quality
so... I ordered this coat and a North Face Parka which was £400 to compare them both. The North Face is def warmer - this is mainly due to the filling in the NF is down. The filling in this coat is artificial - having said that it is still very warm. I was nearly put off by some of the comments that said that this coat would be too warm for UK climate and suitable for extreme climates only, in my opinion this is not really the case. Just to reiterate - it is very warm and seems very waterproof as well. The ZIP is good quality (and is a dual zip) as are the multiple pockets, the hood could do with an adjustment to pull it back a bit as it hangs over your eyes with the fake fur edging. This is not a Canada Goose replacement but a very goo quality coat for all weathers. - which is what I wanted. Overall good value for money and a safe bet.Bit of an update RE:how water proof the coat is. Stood on the side of a hill in a storm where the rain was going sideways watching a rugby game. The coat stood up to this for about an hour and a half - I only had a shirt on underneath and I was not cold, also very little water seeped in. The coat is not sold as a water proof cortex type garment so considering this it held up very well. It needed drying off over a rad for a while afterward but I was not wet. So very impressive
