another worthy addition to the series
These novellas are more small novels and less novellas, in my opinion, this one is again around the 150-page mark and is about Hades Azagoths Jailor of Souls and Cataclysm an unfallen who is under the reapers protection and also employ in Sheoul-Gra.Cat ascendingly opens the portal into the inner-sanctum while cleaning Azagoths office and lets through a soul that doesn't belong causing a series of events that put all in serious danger.Trying to fix her mistake Cat again lives up to her name and now finds herself in a tenuous situation and also trapped with Hade's shut-in in the inner Sanctum.Hades is the only thing standing between her and danger but she is also ecstatic to be spending some series time with the male she has been obsessing over for months.Cat is the one thing Hades wants but with an edict from Azagoth himself hanging over his head he can look but not touch not unless he wants his skin peeled from his bones again by his boss.Loved Hades blue Mohican, sense of style and leathery wings, I also adored his sense of humour.Cat was a gentle soul but she also had a backbone of pure steel and I was rooting for these two all the way.We also get some more of Azagoth and Liliana which was a major plus as well. This was another worthy addition to the series and I really enjoyed myself.

Demonica book 11.5
I absolutely love Larissa Ione's Demonica series and I really miss the world and the characters so I'm thrilled that she's still writing the occasional novella for fans to dive into. Hades has made appearances throughout the series but he's never been a central character, mainly because Azagoth has kept him pretty much confined to Sheol-gra as punishment for something he did thousands of years ago.Anyway, I was really excited to get to spend some time with Hades and I loved Larissa Ione's take on him, she's very, very good at showing her bad guy's softer side and she did this perfectly here. All Hades really wants is to be allowed to live his life in peace, he doesn't like being trapped in Sheol-gra but he knows he plays an important role and he would just like to be able to leave occasionally for a change of scenery. Unfortunately Azagoth is not someone who forgives easily and he's nowhere near done with Hades' punishment. We've also met fallen angel Cataclysm in previous books, she was one of the angels who was tricked into helping Gethel, almost bringing about the apocalypse, and it cost her everything. Cat is currently living and working in Azagoth's home but she's desperate to win back her wings and will do whatever it takes to become an angel again. Unfortunately Cat's name suits her and she is a walking disaster area, pretty much everything she touches leads to trouble and no matter how good her intentions are she always ends up making things worse. This novella was hilarious, Cat causes so much trouble for poor Hades even though all she's trying to do is help him. Azagoth was about ready to have a fit because of it and I think it's only down to Liliana's influence that both Cat and Hades even survived to the end of the book. The couple have fantastic chemistry, their relationship develops fairly quickly but I expect that in a novella and it never felt overly rushed in any case. My only complaint was that the uprising in Sheol-gra was dealt with a little too quickly and easily but that's a really minor issue that didn't bother me a great deal.I miss this series so much and will happily take any opportunity to revisit it so I'm excited that I have a couple of novellas to go and I'm still hoping that Larissa Ione may decide to give us a few more full length novels too.

Loved it
Having encountered Hades at various stages in the Demonica series, which happens to be one of my favourite PNR series and learning more about his true character is a real bonus.Hades is a fallen angel who is the right wing man of Azagoth, the grim reaper and the big boss in Sheoul gra, the demon realm. Hades uses torture as his preferred method of punishment to those who breach the rules.Cat short for Cataclysm is the fallen angel who helped towards initiating the apocalypse and now serving under Azagoth. Her main goal is to stay on the good side so that she can get back to heaven . The problem is that she lives up to her names! Disaster and curiosity. She is attracted to Hades but he appears to be oblivious to her interest in him or is he? As they get to know each other in a platonic way to begin with , Hades starts opening up to her. Big Bad sexy as hell, Hades has a great sense of humour whilst enduring ongoing deprivation as punishment from Azagoth for something he did thousands of years ago. He finds himself attracted to Cat who is brave and courageous but cannot act on how he feels as she is forbidden fruit.Another disaster looms on the horizon with Cat in the middle of it all and her life at risk. Just like that, she becomes Hades' Achilles heel. Can this disaster be averted? Will Azagoth relent on his ongoing punishment for Hades? This novella is fast paced and full of humour even whilst there is conspiracy which could have disastrous consequences. I loved Cat's character and Hades' true self.

Ok as a quick fix but not her best
I love Larissa Ione and the demonica series has been fantastic. This little novella was just ok. It was a bit thin as a story and I guess that's why she wrote it as a novella rather than a full blown book. If you like her novels and need a fix then I'd suggest reading it but don't expect too much.

Hades by Larissa Ione
I found this book very humorous. Cat was a klutz, Hades an unlikely "nice guy" throw in pending disaster and you have yourself an interesting story. I am loving these novellas, sort of like little in "betweenies" to keep you going until the next book.
