Q: Does this contain synthetic fragrance?

It has a strong smell when you spray it but then I don't smell it once it's on my hair. I still don't like the smell when sprayed and bought it because it said fragrance free.

I'm assuming you mean detangling dry hair when WET. My hair is very fine and it detangles very nicely with ShiKai product. I use a wide toothed comb at first, then a finer one, but it works very quickly.

Q: Has anyone used this on an African American child's hair?

No, I have not. This is a lightweight conditioner that sprays in a fine mist. It adds shine to hair and helps to de-tangle and de-frizz. I think it's a good quality product where you don't need to use much if hair is a fine texture and may need more if hair is more coarse. I hope this helps.
