Q: Does this work with softphones and do any apps need to be installed? I do telehealth and can't download apps on my work PC.

I believe it will work with a softphone system. We use it with Zoom and Teams for meetings. It becomes an option within the system. I did not have to install any apps to make it work. It was pretty much plug-and-play. So far everyone is happy with the results.

Q: Can this be used with Android or Apple cell phones as well?

apparently, no! It seems they gave up the bluetooth functionality in order to achieve the link feature!

Q: Is this portable enough that it can fit in a bag to take on trips? Does it come with a carrying case?

It is small enough to carry with you but it does not come with a carrying case.

Q: If I have 5 of these daisy chained, can you mute the speakers individually in a conference room setting or does muting one speaker mute them all?

Just got off the phone with Anker support and they confirmed that muting one unit will mute all of them.
