Brilliant router
I am really pleased with this router, the price was fab at 60 quid. Really powerful and not too heavy to operate. I need it for a job for a customer which was quite tricky and precise. No problem at all routering through Sapele hard wood. Recommended

Preparation is always key
So having read all of the reviews I could find pertaining to the T4, I suspected that some buyers had different expectations than I had. The router arrived safe and well as we have come to expect from amazon. I opened it up and ran my eye over everything and found it to be as described. The first thing I do with every power tool I've ever bought is plug it in and run it for a few minutes on its lowest speed to bed in the brushes. While it was running, I felt out the commonly cited rough plunge movement. It was indeed a bit catchy. After the low speed bed on, I unplugged it and put oil on the shafts that guide the motor assembly up and moved it up and down about 20 times. I cleaned off the oil, and repeated this 4 times, finding it smoother and smoother each time. Satisfied that all was moving well and bedded in, I fitted a round over bit and began edging a cabinet I build a few weeks ago. It ran flawlessly, the cut was clean, and the router behaved as it should with nothing unusual to report - in comparison to my more expensive trend routers. This wee thing is a diamond! It's small enough to use with one hand, but it's plenty powerful. I know taking the time to prep a new tool isn't something we feel we need to do in this day and age, but as anyone who has bought or intends to buy this will attest too, preparation is key. I have performed similar break in procedures with all my power tools, and none of them have ever let me down. It does vary from tool to tool, but even cheap ones benefit from a little care at the beginning. This one doesn't feel as precise as the larger trend tools, but it's horses for courses, I don't need it to. It is however, much more competent than a screwfix special or similar. I've heard people shun this for the cheap bosch green 1200, but I can tell you they aren't the same so arnt a good comparison. Given the choice (which I was) I went for the T4 and I'm very happy thus far.

Heavier than you would think
I ordered this as Trend is one of the leading names in routing. Also becuase my Bosch 500 edging router fell and the base plate got damaged. As its a cast piece its not going to straighten and the parts are unavailable. It is 25 years old.The Trend has a variable speed control which is handy and flip lever lock for the depth. Only used it once or twice so far and results were good. Bearing in mind quality of the router bit is probably the most important of the operation.

Just the job
Bought as replacement for same model. Works a treat and came with various collets and a fence so very satisfied.

Great bit of kit.
Works well with the jigs that I have.Has the ability to be used as an engraver/ carver, which is a bonus over the old one.I respect the fact that this unit is not built for heavy use, and for what it is will do my needs very well for years to come.Seems a very well made machine, good weight behind it.Comes in a nice case, so one can keep everything together, with a few router bits. The guide for it, seems good and sturdy, but time will tell.Would I recommend this, YES I would.Would I buy this again, YES I would. (Hopefully I won't for a very long time )

something "internal" broke off on 2nd use
Used it once. Second time some violently broke off inside - sending plastic flying out of the side of the router. Item returned. Since bought a "cheap and cheerful" router from EBay - at 25% of the Trend; so far so good!

Great, but came without UK plug
I almost returned it, as opened it up to find it had a plug I can only liken to a camping hook up type plug on it, and no adapter or mention that this is/would be the case. But then I just changed the plug to a standard UK one, tried it out and it seems great. Bigger than I expected from the pictures with it being a 1/4 inch, I was more after a palm router, but having done a few plunge cuts with it since, I think I'm happy I bought this one.

Fresatrice leggera

Trend- fresatrice verticale 850 w
