Iโve Used This for Five Yearsโand Wonโt Go Without It!
This cooking oil solidifier is amazing! Iโve been using it for about five years, and I never want to be without it. I simply add the powder to the warm oil as directed and let it cool. It solidifies in a reasonable amount of time, and once itโs completely firm, I can easily scoop it out and throw it away without spills or mess. A little powder goes a long way, so one package lasts me quite a while and is definitely worth the money. It saves me time, makes cleanup easier, and keeps me from having to pour liquid grease into another container. If you cook with oil and hate the cleanup afterward, I highly recommend it! Oh and dry time is about 20 minutes. I would say let it sit overnight for best results.

Lumpia oil problem solver
It. Works. Just gotta be patient. I cooked lumpia and boy that oil was a lot. I saw this product on a doom scroll and Iโm glad I ordered it. It was the most sensibly priced among other brands. There is a scoop provided in the tub. There were instructions but I kind of just eyeballed it when I used it. So I put 1.5 scoops of the powder in a medium saucepan with probably 2 cups of oil. I just stirred it until there was no visible powder and let it sit. No mess at all. After 10 minutes or so, the oil has congealed already and easily scraped it out of the pan. Easy peasy!

Deep-frying fanatics will LOVE this stuff!
One of the joys of a low carb/keto lifestyle is that you can deep fry to your heart's content without blowing your carb allowance. Keto batters and coatings are easy to make with pork rinds, almond flour, egg white powder, etc. Recipes are all over the Internet. I enjoy deep-fried shrimp, fish, chicken, you name it, all the while keeping true to my keto way of eating. The only thing that was stopping me was the oil. What to do with all that oil? Now, I have a marvelous Bravetti deep fryer, and it holds a LOT of oil. My fryer will hold an entire gallon before it reaches the max fill line. I use refined avocado oil, due to its very high smoke point and non-inflammatory quality. But avocado oil stays liquid at room temperature, and even refrigerated, it's still quite runny. You can't use it indefinitely - at some point, it needs to be changed out, especially if you're frying proteins. Ta-da! Oil solidifier! I never knew there was such a thing until someone in one of my Facebook keto groups mentioned it. I admit, I was skeptical at first. It seemed like people were just using it to solidify a little grease from frying pans. Heck, a half sheet of paper towel can sop up that little bit of fat. But, I took a leap of faith and ordered the LaSyl powder. I figured there would be enough in the jar to get at least one fryer's worth of spent oil fit for the garbage bag. I poured about half of the oil into an old Dutch oven, which was all it would hold, and just sprinkled the flakes over the top. I didn't even notice the little scoop, and I had no idea how many cups were in the pot. I probably used seven or eight scoops' worth on that first try. I stirred and stirred, but they didn't dissolve, so I heated the oil a bit and that did the trick. The oil was still very runny, but I decided to let it cool and see what happened. I figured I could always reheat the oil and add more flakes. What a surprise! A couple of hours later, I had a Dutch oven full of oil solidified to the texture of firm gelatin. It scooped easily out of the pot and into the garbage. No need for more flakes! I didn't need it to be solid and hard like some of the videos showed. I just needed it firm enough not to leak out of the bag. And I still had an almost full jar of the powder left! I'm beyond pleased with the LaSyl oil solidifier powder. There are lots of other brands and sizes available, and they probably work the same, but this large jar is perfect for a deep-frying fanatic like me. And it's totally safe and biodegradable, too, which is a big issue for me. Now, time to order some more avocado oil. I got me some fryin' to do!

Good goop, except its flakes that make goop. 8.5/10
This stuffs pretty slick, but the oil never really comes out cleanly. I don't know if maybe I'm just getting my ratios wrong, but itd be nice if it'd come out in one solid piece instead of goopin up on the bottom. Other than that it's solid and still makes cleanup after frying something waaayyyy easier ๐

Best Way To Remove Leftover Cooking Oil!
This LaSyL Natural Cooking Oil Solidifier Powder is fantastic for what it does. If you fry, but don't know how to get rid of all that leftover oil, this stuff is what you need. It turns the oil into gelatin then you dump it in the trash. Follow the instructions, though. (Basically put in enough scoops for the amount of oil you have, then bring it up to temp, then let it cool completely.) There's plenty in the container. If you're a home cooker like me, this one container will take care of several dinners worth of oil. Completely safe. Works every time. Highly recommend!!

Problem solved!
Our daughter loves to make fried chicken. But what do you do with all that spent oil? You canโt put it down the drain. You could keep pouring it into used spaghetti sauce jars, but that gets messy, and we run out of jars. So I head about these solidified powders, and this one from LaSyL works. Put it the appropriate amount after cooking while the oil is still hot. Let it sit overnight, and in the morning you scrape it out as a solid mass directly into your kitchen trash. Love it!

Works greatโjust follow the 1 scoop per cup rule
The LaSyL natural cooking oil solidifier has made dealing with used frying oil much easier and less messy, and it does exactly what it promises when used as directed. After cooking, once the oil has cooled slightly, one level scoop per cup of oil is all that is needed; within a short time the mixture firms up into a solid mass that can be scooped out and thrown straight into the trash instead of risking clogged pipes. Because it actually solidifies the oil, there is no greasy residue left in the pan, which makes cleanup quicker and helps keep the sink and drain clear. The most important thing to know is that the instructions really matter: if too little product is used or it is added to oil that is still too hot, it will not set properly. Measuring roughly one scoop per cup and giving it time to work has been very reliable, and a single container stretches through multiple batches of frying oil. For anyone who cooks with oil regularly and wants a cleaner, more environmentally friendly way to dispose of it, this is an easy, effective solution that quickly becomes part of the kitchen routine.

Recommend , it works !
Recommend . This worked perfectly for me . Made in China, though , just fyi (I didnโt see this in the description but perhaps I missed it. Worth it if you fry things even once in a while - I struggled with how to get rid of old oil. Now I can easily compost it without making a mess.
