Truth About Stacey (The Babysitters Club Graphic Novel, book 2)

I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at just how entertaining this book was.The cover was what got me interested while browsing at a book shop.I thought the Trouble with Stacey might be more sinister than it actually was.The story was told in a very engaging manner and kept me turning the pages until very near the end.Near the end...? Yes,that's when I realised that I'd nearly finished the book so stopped to take a 10 minute break beforereading the remaining chapter.I didn't want the story to end although when it did ,it was very good.One point I'd like to make though,is that I would have liked the 'Ne'er do wells' of the BSA,to have been sucessful in some way.I would've liked them to have been good at something other than baby sitting.The Make-up and styling was a good idea,I thought.I felt a little awkward when they were laughed at.I mean,come on,their flyer for BSA was pretty cool and the balloons a brilliant idea.People like Liz just Have to be sucessful,right ?Anyway,I've ordered the other two BSC books and am eagerly waiting to read them...,and read them again !The artwork is very good and sometimes brilliant.There are some great details.Oh,oh,the Kid kits was a fantastic idea and worked spectacularly too,well done Kristy.The broad satisfied smiles on page 29 says it all.I must mention too before I forget,the back cover picture is pretty darn good too.You have to read the book to fully appreciate it.

Raina telgemier is a genius . Loved this book and the others in this seriesHighly recommend for graphic fans

An honest and very healthy look at friendship, diabetes as well as competition. It shows the benefits of listening to children as they know what they like and it lets you be more supportive of them. It also shows that just because the teen is older or the name fancier that the care is better.I really liked the growth and struggle of the characters making them far more real. Stacey is amazing for knowing what she can and can’t have but also what she wants with her condition! I hope the series continues to grow.

My daughter loves these

My stepdaughter loves these books. I read the original series avidly when I was her age, and I think Raina Telgemeier's adaptations are fantastic. She manages to modernise the original stories so that they are still relevant to my 11 year-old, without departing from Ann M. Martin's plot or characters. Although some things about teenage social life have definitely changed since the original books were written, Stacey still deals with some challenges that my stepdaughter can relate to today: standing up to her parents when they have strong ideas about what is best for her, handling younger children responsibly when looking after them, and dealing with competition.I should note that my stepdaughter used to be a "reluctant reader". We were worried for a few years that she might be dyslexic, and it took a lot of encouragement to get her into books. But she really loves graphic novels, and these stories are perfect for her age and interests. It can still take her weeks to finish a chapter book, depending on how complex it is, but she devoured this within a few days. Being able to even finish a book in a few days (let alone one that she really liked, and which meets her maturity level) has given her a huge boost in confidence and encouraged her to keep reading. She also loved Kristy's Great Idea and I've just ordered Mary-Anne Saves the Day for her.

Granddaughter loved the book

I love this book even though if it is read more then once it can get a bit boring. Anyway the real reason I wrote this review is because you skipped Claudia and the phantom phone calls which is annoying because Claudia and the phantom phone calls is my Favourite book in the first top 10 books. Real shame but good book anyway

i wud like to say to mr roy williams liz amd the rest of the BSA tottaly copied the BSC so ot wud be annoyong if they were sucsesful and when the BSC were laughing at the make up thing was my favourite part! but anyways this book was just like the others amazing and one reviewer discusded me when they saod it was weird anyway byeeeeeeeee

My 8 year old loves the Baby Sitters Club Series. I wanted her to get into reading so I was looking for graphic novels to get her interested and encourage her into more reading.

My 13 year old recently discovered this series and loves both the printed and comic version.

Great book

今回はライバルとなる年上のベビーシッターが登場しそことのトラブルがいろいろあるようで。。。そして毎回４人のうち一人にスポットを当ててるみたいで、今回はステイシーという女の子です。病気のことや喧嘩別れした友達とのことがテーマです。話は面白く読み進められます。少女達なりにそれぞれの悩みなどが「あ～そんなこともあったなぁ～」と懐かしい気持ちになりました。世代がちょうどの子なら共感するようなことがたくさんあるのでは。よく見かける英会話教本よりもリアルな英会話を学べる感じがして良かったです。「へぇ～。こんな時そんな風に言うんだぁ～」みたいに。絵と一緒に読み進めてゆけるので文だけの英会話本よりも記憶にとどまり易かったです。絵はシンプルだけど子供たちの表情はかわいらしいし、カラフルで見ていて楽しかったです。読んでいる間なんだか自分もアメリカのとある町にいるような気分になれてそれも読んでいて楽しかったひとつです。早く次が読みたくなる♪

Very good, nice story and character. I prefer the little sisters, but these are good so far. We will probably read all of these
