Very good quality and all in one so you don't need other equipment. Good simple product and great size

This jar arrived with a cracked airlock valve, which the support line ([email protected]) was quick to replace for me. I have used the Kilner Sauerkraut fermentation system to do my first ferment, and no mold or unwanted organisms are growing - so the valve has done a good job. The sauerkraut tatses great too! I'm happy to recommend this jar to others for similar fermentations.

Please note, the instructions which come with it state to fit the air lock, which is not what arrives with this 1 litre kit, and is appropriate for the 3 litre kit only. Price could be lower, so for these 2 reasons, reduced by 1 star

Kilner jar arrived earlier than expected, but the outer box was quite bashed. The delivery chap asked me to check it over so he could return it for me should it be smashed. Luckily due to the excellent packing of large amount of bubble wrap inside the outer box and then another box - the item was perfect. Thank you Amazon and the delivery chap . Happy with my purchase.

I wanted to make kimchi and sauerkraut and not spend to much money. This has done the job well. The water filter at the top burps the gas away pretty well although I have found the rubber lid does lift a bit at the early stages of fermentation. The weights are pretty good although could be heavier and I did purchase the wooden implement to help press everything done which whilst well made was not really necessary.

Several design flaws with this product, particularly when using to make kimchi. First, the silicone valves tear easily and Kilner does not sell replacements. Second, the silicone seals slip out of the lids easily and fall into the contents. Third, the kimchi corrodes the inside of the lid, leaving unsightly marks that can’t be removed (rust spots?). Fourth, when compressing the kimchi I accidentally broke the glass, so it’s not quite as durable as it looks. The best thing about these is the ceramic weights, which I now use in jars from a different manufacturer which have glass lids.

Received my fermentation set from Kilner, I was happy how the jar was packaged within its box and it was delivered intact. The size is perfect for my needs ( although other sizes are available). The product looks great and all the pieces are of good quality. I have used it several times to make several batches of kimchi and both its functionality and ease of cleaning after are superb. I also thought the instructions were super helpful. Really recommend !!!!! Next I’m going to try the recipes in the booklet attached, can’t wait.

Does what it is intended to do with out fancy bells and whistles. Would buy again when more are needed, this is perfect for single small batches.
