I’ve always written with ballpoint pens, so I was curious to try something more elegant and I’m glad I went for this Ellington fountain pen. On the brand’s own website this pen looked nice but on Amazon it was a much better deal, so I took the plunge.I immediately felt the difference, it’s substantial, but not heavy. The medium nib writes smoothly and consistently, I haven’t experienced any skipping or blotting. I’m getting used to it, I find I write a bit slower and more deliberately now but that’s part of the charm.The pen also comes with a refillable ink converter and three cartridges. The gift box doesn’t give high end vibes but it does the job to keep my pen safe in my bag.It’s a good entry level luxury fountain pen without over spending. I’m really happy with the purchase and I’d absolutely recommend it.

I have collected and used fountain pens since I was a teenager. Amongst them are Mont Blanc, Watermans, Parker , Schafer and the like. This is important because rather unfairly this is what I’m gauging my new Ellington fountain pen against. So value for money it wins hands down being several hundred pounds less than all the others. Quality of build and fit is excellent and equal to many of the others. Nib and ink flow are first class. Most impressive is the smoothness of the medium nib, it doesn’t scratch in any direction even when a firmer pressure than normal is used. The only slight concern is the small size of the cartridge, personally I will use the three that arrived with the pen and then use the refillable plastic cartridge and Watermans ink. The pen will accept the longer Parker or Waterman cartridges so if I’m stuck I’ll use one of them. All in all for anyone wanting a first class fountain pen that writes as smoothly as wax that is probably the best value I can heartily recommend this.

I was a little concerned ordering this fountain pen due to some of the marketing claims made by Ellington Pens and a number of not too complementary reviews on YouTube. Lets be clear this is a Chinese made pen produced for Ellington Pens and some of the claims they make are very misleading and possibly untrue. That said, the pen seems to be of a decent quality and writes nicely. Ellington makes claims of it being 'The best balanced pen ever made', I would have to disagree as I have far better balancing pens in my own collection. I find it difficult to use with the cap posted as the hexagonal cap finial throws the balance out completely and it's purpose isn't clear.It's quite a nice writing pen otherwise and is comparable to some other makes in the price range. Competent rather than exceptional. I have taken off one star due to the less than honest marketing employed by Ellington Pens.

Very high quality pen that works as advertised. I have bought both fine and medium sized nib. They both work very nicely. The converter in other pens that I have used had issues with the flow and I have to bleed it to restart writing. But not with Ellington pens, they seem to work all the way till the ink is done and you need to refill it. I find the medium nib smoother. Very good value pen, if one has to buy one I highly recommend this one, it the best of that price range that I have tried.Update: On April 6th, just a few months after the purchase of the pen the converter broke. I attach below an image. I am wondering is the lifetime of the converter so short? Can I buy a converter separately? Thank you!

This pen feels well made. The weight and balance are just right. The pen is quite heavy, but that all adds to the solid, reliable feel. The black finish looks great. The ink flows smoothly and so far hasn't dried up at all. My handwriting isn't great but there is just enough resistance on the paper to slow my hand down a little, so the end result looks better. A lovely instrument and a good investment, especially at the price.

My new pen NEVER worked properly. Lousy inkflow to nib. I tried saliva/warm water etc (,things that always worked for me for 60 yesrs! It is still in it's box and I expect it will stay there? Didappointing.

This is a nice looking, light feeling pen. It was well presentedInk flow isn't brilliant.

I’ve only had my Ellington pen over a day and I love it. In my humble experience I love the way it feels in my hand and feels well balanced with and without the cap places on the barrel of the pen. I had looked at the Ellington stealth pen for a while now and I’m glad that I finally bought one.

Love writing with this pen, got it as a gift to myself for finishing another year of university studies and I use it to write a lot of my notes. Bit messy to refill with ink but you can buy ink cartridges if you don’t want to refill with vials. Love this pen.

This pen is great. I have a couple of others from a different company that are pretty good but this one writes twice as nice. It writes very smooth on the paper and is a very nice weight in the hand. I love it.

The pen writes very smoothly! The matte black finish looks good! This is an all black pen weighing about 32.5 grams and 140 mm when capped. The cap with an octagonal finial posts well but a bit heavy at the end. The pen comes with a piston ink converter and 3 ink cartridges. Click-0ff- cap with a nice click sound !I like the medium nib which is black too and a nice logo. Overall a good fountain pen to posses ! Value for money too !

Literally the only fountain pen I've ever had where it just works...put a cartridge in and it writes, no only fingers, no hours spent shaking it about and squeezing the cartridge or licking the nib to get the ink flowing...(Not a euphemism )Maybe that's just me. But this one I love. Very smooth too. My only complaint is that even the medium nib is very fine. Could do with a bit more width. (Also not a euphemism).
