Like a piano pedal
Like a piano pedal. It did start squeaking after a few days, but an oil spray stopped the squeak and it has, so far, not returned.

My daughter has been using it almost every day with her Yamaha electric piano for more than a year and the pedal has been working flawlessly all this time. And it probably will continue working well for many years to come.
