To me, nice chopsticks add considerably to the experience of eating. The chopsticks do not have to be extremely high end custom made and pricey. But even at more modest prices, there should still be beauty in the wood, balance in hand, and beautiful smooth finishing that enhances the wood. It might be just me, but I also like squar(ish) ends so the chopsticks don't roll, and fine tips with little grooves that feel good picking up even something tiny, like a sesame seed. I wanted to love these chopsticks, but they unfortunately fall short. These Japanese style chopsticks are made in China. The wood has no beautiful grain pattern which is OK if the wood is smooth and beautifully finished. The finish on these is slightly rough and not smooth, so they don't feel really good in hand. Don't get me wrong. These chopsticks are probably fine for most people. But if you're like me and seek a higher level of chopstick for the experience of eating, then these chopsticks are not it.

Artisan level look and feel. Really great price. Looks expensive. Couldn’t be more pleased. Haven’t washed yet but they look like they’ll hold up a while. Would buy regardless just for how pretty they are. Would make a great gift. Less wasteful than getting chopsticks from a restaurant.

Very nice birthday gift for my grandson. Attractive and stylish and came in a fine gift box that should aid in keeping the set looking nice for years.
