Sony the real deal
Good quality TV as expected from Sony.Picture quality is really nice, but at to tweak the settings to get it to my taste. Sound is ok, but as with all bigger TVs a sound bar is advisable just give that cinema experience. Overall would recommend this TV.

Never buy electronics from AMAZON! Bad quality - SONY logo peeling off
We bought this TV from Amazon and Amazon is the seller of it. Within few months the SONY logo in front started peeling off which was quite surprising. By now more have came off! I have Bravia TV purchased from currys more than a decade ago which is still intact and no sign of logo peeling off. We thought it’s part of mechanical fault and contacted Amazon via chat but the customer service assistant was not helpful - was said warranty had expired so they cannot offer for repair but the information in ‘Defective item after 30 days’ says different thing. The information in the section is misleading! Very disappointed purchase from Amazon - cannot trust the quality anymore ! Will never buy any electronics from Amazon.

Superb and Great Build Quality.
Bought on an Amazon special so the price was 300 quid cheaper than the normal price - and I looked around at other sites to confirm that. So my review has to take into account that at the time of purchase, this was a pretty good deal compared like for like with other brands.Anyway, I wanted a Sony because I like the quality - perceived or otherwise. In my experience - which is now somewhat longer than is comfortable....Sony do make good quality stuff. And unlike many other earlier Sony stabs at the new media world post tape Walkman they seem to have worked out that sticking to simple well proven software is the way forward. Does anyone remember the really tortuous early Sony MP3 players with software from hell? Anyway, on this TV we have Android so at least it is a tried and trusted system albeit adjusted for Sony. And it works and is simple which is what it should be.Best of all for me there are built in Amazon Prime and Netflix apps with a Netflix button on the remote. Happy days. You get all the usual connections including a built in Freeview tuner which for me is worthless because my house is nestled into a slight hill surrounded by trees. And as soon as the leaves arrive back in spring I can forget any signal so I use Freesat and the internet.Which is fine by me. There really isn't much on terrestrial TV for a bloke thanks to the BBC targeting anyone apart from middle aged blokes. So picture. Its amazing in HD and even more amazing in 4K. Mostly. Ish. What I've found with 4k - and I've noticed it with other waaaaayyyy more expensive sets than this one in shops - is that 4k is so ultra-real its almost too real, if that makes sense. The sharpness and colour rendition is beyond what we see in normal life it seems and that adds a sense of unreality to films and shows which have real actors and actresses in them. In actual fact I prefer that output in ordinary HD which tends to soften things just enough to take the edge off. However, if you watch something with a lot of CGI or a computer generated image such as the films from Pixar, the picture can nearly take your breath away its so good. But then we all know that which is why any shop selling TV's run animated films all the time which naturally suit the high end resolution of 4K......Now the dropped star is for the irritating HDMI socket on the back of the TV. The back. Why? Seriously, why? There are three HDMI sockets on this TV. Two on the left hand side as you look at it - in a recessed area - and one on the back. The two side ones are perfect because when you clag this TV on a wall the HDMI cables lie flat and don't get in the way. However the one on the back is not recessed and it means that if you plug in an HDMI cable the TV will have to stick out from the wall. And many people - myself included stick these on the wall and want them as unobtrusive as possible. So why, when you have a super slim TV that looks all slick and cool do you have an HDMI port on the back that will push the TV out at least another couple of inches if you use it.So, instead of having three HDMI sources I have 2 which sucks a bit but thankfully due to the inbuilt Amazon app (which you authorise when you first use it) I can dump the Amazon Fire box.So, all in all a very good TV that looks fantastic, has a great picture and at the price I paid is a relative bargain. But I'm dropping a star for the moronic placing of the third HDMI port.

Good quality.
Fantastic, screen clarity has changed my viewing perception forever with 4k. USB recording is one touch on the inbuilt TV Guide. Standard Freeview. Bought a Bluetooth Blu ray DVD player for this, also a Sony with Bluetooth for headphones as I live in a flat, it also has screen mirroring from your mobile well, Sony XZ has it, and your phone screen appears on the TV. For what I need then the TV is perfect, with WiFi for home broadband. My only gripe is that the Sony Viao is off the market, are wee ever to see a replacement?

Great quality picture, but that's all unfortunately...
Lovely looking tv and great quality picture, but has very basic menus and features, the remote feels like it's from the 1990s and the sound quality is awfully poor. It is an entry level TV - if you are after one that has plenty of features then this is not for you

Great TV but watch out for the USB slot
I'm torn between 3 and 4*'s. I have 2 of these. The first one I won from Sony in a competition and has been going for years with no issues at all (I'd give that one 5*'s), so I invested in a second for another room in the house. It works and looks great, however the USB slot at the rear of the TV popped straight out at random (it actually pinged out across the room by itself whilst we were watching the TV for the first time). The slot is basically defective. Turns out the slot is too small for the USB cable so the cable has to practically be forced in (im guessing the part that came out so easily did so due to the size of the slot being wrong). Obviously a random manufacturing defect but the TV is already up on the wall and the husband can't be bothered with the hastle of getting it off the bracket and returning such a large item. We've done our own fix so it is now useable to a point (we can't let the teenager use it though for fear of the lot coming out again). A shame it happened in the first place as I'd have previously rated Sony TV's. I'd expected more having had such a great TV the first time round. Don't let it put you off though cuz as I say, I do have a really good one of these too so would get another one and cross my fingers. Just check your USB slot when you first get it out the box just incase there is a faulty batch out there.

Very pleased sony !!!
So far so good. Looks fantastic!!! Picture is nice and ive twinned it up with my sony soundbar and have a nice viewing station now. 4k settings could be easier to find. Took me 30 minutes to find how to enhance the hdmi port for my ps4 pro to use the 4k capabilities.
