Does this latch twist both ways? ie if you have a door nob can you turn anti-clockwise and clockwise to open or is it locked to one direction?

hi, the latch does turn both ways but with new handles the handles only turn one way. but if you fit door nobs they shoud be able to turn both ways. Arthurp
