Good to the beginner

It was my first time trying a project like this and I must say I absolutely love how adorable it came out.

The idea of this product is very cute and if you already know how to crochet I’m sure you’ll do fine. However, if you’re as much of a beginner as I am, you probably won’t understand the majority of it without a BIG helping from google. To this day I basically refuse to try to finish it bc it’s so confusing and hard to get around as a total beginner.It does bring everything pictured and it arrived well packaged, but it’s just too difficult as a newbie.

I like this little crochet kit. It does not come with easy peasy yarn however as it says in the description. It comes with plane old-fashioned yarn. Since the description was not completely accurate I took away one star.Also the directions are not in written form, so you have to watch the videos in order to make the project. I wish there was a printed version that came with it for reference in between watching the videos. But the videos are available on You_Tube using the QR code on the back of the pamphlet that comes with it. You just need to use your phone camera to connect to the link.The videos are made by a woman from another country but she is very easy to understand.

I can't wait to make this for my granddaughter. I didn't realize it came with the hook, scissors and everything else needed; I thought it was just yarn and instructions.

I couldn’t get anywhere with this thing because the yarn just continuously fell apart and unwound itself. The hook struggles to grab the whole string & then it pulls it apart anyway. The scissors are also very dull and can barely cut the yarn. Complete garbage.

TL;DR: Great kit! Not the best for beginners but you can do it with 0 experience if you are persistent enough.I had never touched crochet before buying this kit but I did know how to knit coming in so maybe that helped some. As an absolute beginner, I found the written directions very confusing and there were mistakes in a couple places. Like they said to 'DC' when what they meant was increase. However, the videos were extremely helpful and between those and the instructions I was able to get through it with a pretty good result. One other tip, the kit comes with safety eyes but they don't tell you to insert the eyes until the very end after you've stuffed it and everything, so make sure you do that before it tells you to. It took me around 7 hours to make but I think someone who comes in knowing how to crochet would be able to decipher the instructions and get it figured out much quicker. They also give you plenty of extra yarn, enough to add hair to his whole head if you want to instead of just the bangs like the instructions say. That's what I did for mine. I'm sure I made many mistakes and that's why the shape isn't quite like the picture but I'm still very happy with it. Definitely more fun than most 'first' crochet projects imo!

I have been crocheting since I was 10 years old and I’m in my late 60s. I purchased many patterns online and realize that everyone has their own way of writing crochet patterns.In my opinion, the written pattern is not written in depth enough for a beginner, and just very confusing. The video helps somewhat but is hard to understand also. The quality of the yarn included is horrendous to work with, the crochet hook that is shown to come with the kit is not the same one that I received.Thank heavens, I had my own crochet hook the size that was required.I think my biggest issue with this is that it’s not something that I would be able to use while teaching my granddaughter to crochet since it’s not a beginner project, and I am afraid that it would discourage to the point where she would just want to give up altogether 👎🏻

Having never picked up a crochet hook in my life. I thought I'd start with this little project. I was wrong watching the videos they were too fast for me and I didn't understand any of it. So not to be defeated I got some hooks and yarn and a little how to crochet book from a friend and learned the basics before I went back to this project. With fresh eyes I found the video tutorials extremely helpful and grew fond of the faceless girl teaching me how to make this little frog doll. I was pleased with the way it turned out and was confident enough to do the hair differently adding a little red bow. I would say it is for beginners who know basic stitches and very easy to follow once you have learned the basics. The kit comes with everything you need and surplus. Plenty of yarn and stuffing left over. A lovely little kit to try your hand at.

Thought I would try my hand at this but it just left me never to wanting to do it again. Video is beyond awful. Way too fast and couldn’t understand it.This is not for a beginner but someone who has done this before.Wasted my money!

The idea of this kit is great, but the follow along videos on YouTube are by a young girl whose English is limited. 'Put the thing through the thing' is not helpful instruction. Also the videos are super fast.This is the perfect kit for someone with experience with chrochet.
