this guy is an instructor at best, not a teacher
I'm going to guess Bill Searle is an engineer or some job where they just assume that the reader can fill in the blacks. this guy is an instructor at best, not a teacher. and if you don't know the difference between the two I can assume that this book was written for people like you. it's written much like most Technical manuals where the writer live in a perfect world and has everything's at hand, perfectly clean and everyone know the terms used. he give next to no diagrams and the few in it look like a jr. high kid made them on a note pad wasting time in class. these no reason or explanations about anything. just a bunch of "do it these way because I said so." the part about cleaning up and tuning arrows to each other is useful and is the only reason why I don't give this book a 1 star. a wise teacher once told me "all information is useful if you know out how to use it." these a hand full of fact and info in this book that I can take away and use with other things I've learn but in short the book should be pulled and rewritten

Useful little book
I have been doing archery for over 35 years and have made several sets of arrows during that time. "Fletchery! The Art of Making Matched Arrows" had much useful information in it. I have made some of my arrows from scratch, including cutting the shafts from boards and then rounding them. The author includes much worthwhile advice for the experienced fletcher. I would recommend this short book to anyone that is interest in making a well matched set of wood arrows. There is an informative chapter on footed arrows.

If You Want To Build Your Own Matched Arrows, You will find much information.
This book gives information on how to build your own scales and spine tester. Two Tools that you will be using frequently. You will find very cheap scales on Amazom and a much more simple spine tester on Youtube. You will learn how to find timber and turn it into dowels. The book refers to the importance of matching arrows to your bow but you will have to look elsewhere for this information. You will find this on Youtube. It is a lovely thought to have a matched set of arrows but they also need to match your bow.I think that the book needs updating and maybe a reduction in price.

Not for beginners
The author is probably very knowledgable and feels that you should already know certain things about building arrows. Many terms such as finding the spine and G.N.A.S he did not explain. I must not remember these from the second grade. I feel this book might be useful when I learn how to make an arrow, it might help me make a better one. After reading twice I still do not feel comfortable making arrows. I will seek knowledge else where. Also the font was really light toned making it very hard to read, first kindle book I have ever seen do that. I checked and my other books fonts were fine.

A basic start.
It's a fairly basic and seems to focus more on making and acquiring the tools for fletching rather than the process itself. It doesn't skip that part it's just that there is less information in that section.

Excellent book on the craft of making arrows
I found the information to be helpful and easy to follow. The description of the jigs and how to use them was also very helpful.

Brit perspective
A good read. Technical, and contains instructions for making spine tester and grain scale for collating sets of shafts. Commercial electronic scales and affordable spine testers are available, but the knowledge of DIY is great. Recommend for anyone interested in archery.

Not a great book
Not great, photographs and drawings were poor quality and the book wasn’t as useful as I thought it was going to be.The cover hasn’t been designed well at all ... and feels cheap, in general looks like a bad attempt of Home publishing. Most likely sell on .... disappointed !! on a topic that could have been really great

Don't buy the Kindle edition
A useful booklet for those who strive to make matched arrows but the Kindle edition is extremely irritating. The booklet comes with tables and diagrams and photographs. The tables are either a mess or else they require magnifying. some "Figures" appear to be missing and the text has not been properly edited. Stick with the printed version - there is nothing to be gained from having this on a Kindle.

Great book,
I am not sure why others have given this book less than 5 stars, I've been into archery for at least 20 years and most of the info was new to me. I followed the instructions albeit with purchased tools, and I have made two, beautiful arrows, and in all honesty with a little more time could be better than my very expensive purchased set. I crested the arrows and shot both yesterday, what can I say, fantastic. I won't ever buy arrows again. A great book. Well done Mr.author......

Interesting
A interesting book, more plans on how to make the various bit and bobs would be good but the information is there.
