Casa Forcelli Mostarda Mantovana di Pere - Pear

I had never tasted mostarda, so I ordered this. My family cans jellies and preserves from the thirty fruit trees that we have, so I have a broad range to compare against, but they are simply jellies, jams, preserves, etc.. I prefer what I am used too, but the mostarda was interesting and I recommend that people try it at least once. I am sure that many would find it delicious.

When I first bought this I thought my husband would use it on crackers with cheese. I bought fresh Brussel sprouts halved them tossed them with olive oil and some other spices added a few tablespoons of this mustard mix and baked them. It added a nice sweet flavor. Its great!

To sweet not enough mustard

great product, tasty and spicy to the right level, very similar to a mustarda found in Italy... great service as well.

This mostarda had a great flavor. I paired it with an aged parmesan and it was amazing. Spicy goodness.

Sweet, mild pear with somewhat horseradish mustard--what a pairing.

YUM! Hard to get Mostarda in the US. Really like the chunks of pear. Great with cheese.
