We had our Frenchie for a few months before he started developing skin issues and would vomit after eating certain foods, especially anything with eggs. After doing some research on pet allergy tests, my boss told me about 5Strands, and after some hesitation because of the price, I finally decided to try it. The test was incredibly easy to use — all it required was a few strands of his hair. The prepaid envelope made sending it off super convenient, and I got the results back in about 3–5 business days. It turns out he’s allergic to egg whites, so no more eggs for him! I even made a spreadsheet with all his allergens to compare when buying new food or treats. He still scratches a little, but nothing like before — it’s totally manageable now. Overall, this product was absolutely worth the money. It gave me peace of mind and helped me understand my dog’s needs so much better! 🐾

This is a very good start and a great tool when helping your furry friend with chronic allergies

I can't say enough good things about this test. It was fast, very thorough and incredibly helpful in doing the right thing for my senior dog. It's unbelievably easy to do and well worth every penny. I can honestly say I was doing it all wrong taking care of my old girl. From food to bedding. I can't wait to see how the changes I've made, thanks to the info this test provided, improves her quality of life. Highly recommend and I will be trying their human test myself.

Was stressed about trying to get a hair sample from my cat since she never sits still, but it was surprisingly easy. She didn't even care. Got it shipped out and now just waiting on the results.

Took a shot doing this test. I don't know what the outcome will be which is why I gave only 4 stars. But doing the test was easy and receiving results happened within a week. My 11-year-old lab mix has been obviously dealing with some food and environmental sensitivities. Hoping this will steer us in the right direction in terms of her food which has been especially hard after a pancreatitis episode a few months ago. Plan to also share it with the vet.
