These are great for the yard trimming tree limbs and vegetables. Little pricey but worth it. We had a set and wore them out and couldn’t find them anywhere. So ordered from here

Had a pair that lasted 25 years. this pair broke the 2nd time I used them. The pin that makes the ratchet operate fell out. could not find it as it fell into brush covered spot. very disappointed, pissed off.

I have a hand shear from a well known company, purporting to be ergonomic. They never felt comfortable and never were sharp, even when they were new. But, they were a gift. Bought several items from corona and they’re all fantastic. These shears are sharp, comfortable, strong and bright red, so I can find them wherever they get dropped on the ground. I use common sense with larger branches. If the blades bow out, the branch is too thick and I need to use a larger cutting implement. These are perfect for delicate stems, stubborn roots and woody branches, especially the live ones that are still green, owing to their sharpness. They’re my new go to in the garden. Price was excellent. 4/19/24: Update I used these to cut thick roots growing in wet mud. They’re amazing. They sliced right through a 1” root with ease, even with my small hands. SMH at how great these are.

These were great the first two times used, then broke on the third. The mechanics that ratchet broke right away with very light use during routine pruning. Parts broke and fell in the brush of half grown holly so no chance of retrieval for repair. Most importantly, absolutely no reason to break so easily after such little use. Don't buy.

Nice pruner but the plastic lock stripped out right away so it doesn't stay closed any more.

4224D Ratchetcut Cg Pruner For quite a few years now, I've been useing a two handed looping tool to cut dried wood branches and palm fronds down to trash pick up size. With this tool I can pick up the branch with one hand and cut with the other hand. Much faster, with less bending over. Palm fronds like the one in the photo take me three or four (easy) squeezes of the handles. Some reviewers here complaned about the ratchet mechanism's pin falling out. Others mentioned screws working loose. I uploaded some pics... seems to me that the unit is well put together and also easy to repair if a part did fall off and get lost. So far I'm very happy with this purchase.

Not a good product. Does not open wide enough for small hands. The ratchet system failed after nominal use.

The ratchet works fine and the grip is good. Unfortunately, they are really frustrating to use for more than an occasional cut. I use ratchet pruners all the time and this design is horrible for continual use. The placement of the locking mechanism is awkward to access one handed. Also, when using for multi cuts in a row, the lock slips into place during the cut and you must stop and unlock each time. Quite annoying! For my needs this completely misses the cut!!

The anvil counter blade broke in half, went flying off in the bush. Had been using it for just 30 minutes. Worthless and dangerous.

First use - fell apart. The pivot nut and bolt fell out, and became lost in the garden after approx 30 minutes of trimming soft stems. Frustratingly, I'm unable to find the replacement parts on the Corona website. And the company's warranty does not cover lost parts! My husband has tried several times to fix the problem with alternative bolts, but they subsequently fail. Very dissatisfied with this purchase, and with no recourse to have them repaired or refunded. Don't purchase!!!

The pin that controls the two handles falls out and makes the pruners unusable. This happened with the first pair but I bought a second and it happened again. Last time for me!!
