SITKA Gear Traverse Cold Weather Hoody

Great jacket! Will keep you warm with proper layering. 100% polyester shell and 98% polyester panels. The layer on the inside is are fitted to provide the most warm retention in vital areas; back, arms, sides, chest, and neck. Wicking material in a couple of spots. It isn’t meant to be a wet weather jacket, but it is a cold weather jacket.I live in AZ and it can get snow on the ground in the lower level of higher elevations. We live in a valley here and it’s almost like a bowl, but we hunt outside the bowl. Some mornings the temps on the hills we hunt will be in the twenties before the sun rises, but with this jacket its not bad. Yeah, I still get cold but that’s just my toes. It’s really great to see the gear actually works for the money (never had any doubts). My hunting partner has another high priced competitor’s gear and he is always complaining about how cold it is even with 4-5 layers on. The more layers doesn’t mean you’ll be warm, just means you have more layers you need to take off when you start exerting energy. This jacket isn’t the greatest to break the wind, but as a mid layer under the mountain jacket or cloudburst you’ll be warmer than you thought!As far as the pilling, it does occur. Might not be sightly but the jacket still works as intended. And yes, if you walk through a cactus patch, the thorns will cause fibers pull out as expected. So if you get snagged and fibers come out, just take a lighter to them to prevent worse damage!

Very light, very breathable and great for those 30-50 degree days even when stalk hunting. Worth the money, I was reluctant to buy, but after a trip to Montana elk hunting worth the price. Buy the underlayers too.

It’s super hard to find female hunting gear! I ordered this men’s jacket in a small and it fits like a glove. I’m 5’7” 135 pounds! It is warm enough for morning and evenings of bow season here in Colorado!

This gear was a gift for a college bound student. He lives in an extremely warm weather state but will spend the next 4 years in college in an area with cold winters. This hoodie ought to get him started on layering for cold days.

I returned because I did not think the camo would work well for most of my season. The usual excellent Sitka quality. I had the black version in XL. This is warm, but not real warm. You would need to layer under it considerably for colder weather, and it is not windproof. I'm in between sizes on many Sitka shell items. An XL fits a bit snug, but the 2XL is excessively large. I have some trouble finding a happy middle on many of their items.

Purchased this to layer during Dec deer season. 10 degree days and was nice and toasty. Had thermals, longsleeve, hoodie, then the traverse. I don't think I shivered once and this was tree stand hunting with no movement. I am not a life long Sitka customer!

My husband enjoys having this jacket. It is light weight but warm.
