I have been using 100mcg of the antioxidant Selenium daily for the last eight years. My doctor back then recommended Solaray and I have kept with this brand.WHY TAKE A SELENIUM SUPPLEMENT?Selenium is as essential trace mineral and functions as part of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione perioxidase. It is bonded to the essential sulfur amino acid, methionine.According to the FDA's website:"Selenium may reduce the risk of certain cancers. However, FDA has determined that this evidence is limited and not conclusive".There is no way of me knowing how much good these supplements actually do. Important for buyers to know that Soloray is packaging Selenium in a plastic bottle that was delivered to me in an air=bubble bag, which normally works just fine. However, delivery of this plastic bottle had bottom of bottle folded in half. I opened bottle to check entire contents for crushed caps & that didn't happen, however, powder granules were scattered over the small plate I dumped them onto. Just a heads-up for the future. Cheap Plastic used for bottle.
