Basic but great for sensitive skin
It’s not fancy. It’s is not like the newest fancy shaving cream and gels. But this is better for sensitive skin. No added scent at all - great for sensitive skin. But the natural smell of the ingredients is a little off putting when you use it. Just shave and rinse and the smell goes away. I use with Gillette’s sensitive razors and follow with La Roche Pose’s cicoblast balm as after shave. My neck skin has never been better.

Hypoallergenic , soothing and moisturizing.
Vanicream Shave Cream is so good. I have super sensitive skin plus rosacea on my chin. Over the years I have tried almost every electric shaver , straight edge razor ; in addition to almost every OTC ( Over the Counter ) shaving cream ,lotion or dry shaving product on the market. Additionally , I've tried numerous specially formulated /custom made shaving products. Frustratingly , 99.9% did NOT deliver a rosacea flare up free shave. A dermatologist recommended Vanicream about 4-5 years ago. What a difference. I occasionally get flare ups form shaving. Though not like before. Vanicream is not inexpensive, though it is worth the cost.

Works great!
Doctor recently suggested I switch to all Vanicream products to deal with some horrid skin issues I was having. They all work great and I can't recommend them enough. I had some reservations about this product from the mixed reviews and the fact that I use an old school safety razor for shaving. It's a foamless product which can throw people off as you have to take the time to really rub the product in and use warm water. But the shave was good - very good, actually. Normally I used a lathering cream on top of shaving oil but this on it's own worked well. Yes, it smells like corn chips, but presumably you're buying this because the masking scents in other products are an issue for you. Wish they made an aftershave balm!

"Please don't change the formula for this"
This is the best shaving cream product I've ever used overall. Please don't alter the formula in any way. First the PROS: it doesn't take a lot to fully cover your face; this cream stays on and stays moist while you shave so you don't have to touch-up with more cream as you go along; I experience less nicks, cuts and shave burns using this product;; the skin feels normal afterwards; no rash and the seborrheic dermatitis symptoms I normally experience in my beard have been decreased thus far; the caveat to the last point is that I started using this product in April which is when I have less of these symptoms relative to the winter. The CONS: the product does not smell good--it actually smells a little on the bad side but it is very tolerable considering it works well (the last thing I want is for them to add a perfume which will cause irritation). It smells like corn flakes or something along those lines but only stronger. The other con is that there is very little product in each container; as mentioned before not that much product is needed to get a good shave; considering the price of this product they should be able to include more cream in a larger container as I don't think they are that hard pressed for cash that they need to sell way more of these things to keep it going.. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this product but the company should include at least 50% more product. Please don't change the formula for this and provide more than 50% more product (ideally 100% more) so we don't feel like we are getting ripped off each time a bottle runs out.

Great Fragrance Free Option
This shaving cream is a great option that is gluten and fragrance free. It is creamy and moisturizing, but doesn't clog my razor. It has a slight smell, but it's pleasant. It has not irritated my skin or given me a rash. This a good option for people with sensitive skin.

Good for sensitive skin, but very thick, expensive and clogs drains
I have very sensitive skin, and have tried several other shaving creams, which all irritated my skin. This is the first one I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my skin. I also appreciate the fact that it’s unscented and truly fragrance free. It works fairly well as a shaving cream. It prevents razor burn and irritation. My biggest complaint is that it is pretty thick. It doesn’t foam up or lather the way some shaving creams or gels do, so I have to use quite a bit of it and go through almost half a container just to shave my legs once. Consequently, I have to buy it very frequently and it’s not cheap. I actually spend much more on shaving cream than I do on razors. Because it’s thick, it also tends to clog my shower drain, even when used sparingly, which is very annoying.

Smells Terrible
--Recommended by a dermatologist, who had never used it or seen it in person until I brought it to her to smell. It smells terrible, awful! I don't have anything to compare the smell to. I threw it out. --The cream is sufficiently thick for a comfortable shave, which I do daily. --I use pointed cotton swabs to clean the shaving cream from the back of the razor, even after swishing the razor in alcohol.
