Take Fetch to the next level and keep your hands clean!
I purchased this 16-inch compact Nerf ball blaster to use strictly in our backyard, and it has been a fantastic addition to our dog's play routine. It does a wonderful job of keeping him fully focused and active. HIGHLY ENGAGING MECHANICAL SOUNDS The performance of the launcher is excellent. It shoots the tennis ball a very respectable distance across the yard, easily saving my arm from throwing fatigue. The standout feature is actually the noise of the mechanism itself. My dog gets incredibly excited the second he hears me winding the lever back right before I shoot the ball. That specific winding sound makes the entire game significantly more interactive and engaging for him than if I were to just throw a ball by hand. RELIABLE HARDWARE AND STORAGE The pullback lever and trigger mechanisms still work smoothly with no stiffness or jamming issues. The hands-free barrel pickup design functions perfectly, allowing you to easily press the blaster down over a wet ball to retrieve it without making a mess of your hands. Standard-sized tennis balls fit into the chamber without any compatibility problems. In terms of durability, this blaster has sat stored outdoors exclusively since we purchased it, and the plastic shell has held up great against the elements without warping or cracking. Pros -Mechanical winding sound adds extra mental stimulation and engagement for dogs. -Hands-free barrel pickup cleanly grabs wet balls off the ground. -Achieves great launch distance for standard backyard fetch sessions. -Fits standard-sized tennis balls perfectly. -Plastic shell handles outdoor storage without degrading. Cons -None. It is a reliable backyard toy that works exactly as advertised. Final Verdict Overall, this compact blaster is a great value for the money. It makes daily exercise much easier on your arms and provides a fun, noisy cue that dogs absolutely love to chase. It is a highly dependable backyard toy and comes recommended.

Would definitely buy again
The Nerf tennis ball blaster is the best toy for my over active German Shepherd. He finally has to stop and rest. His way of resting is not bringing me the ball. It wears him out and it is easy for me to send the ball more than 3 feet. I am so happy I decided to get Nerf Tennis Ball Blaster. Only one negative aspect. My dog destroyed the nerf ball after the fourth catch. Using tennis balls that fit but not tightly. He has gone through 6 tennis balls, but we both love the energy he uses when retrieving the ball. Thank you Nerf!

Not long lasting, but a fun toy
My dog adores these and we are on our third one, because the internal part that holds the ball, allowing you to pick it up without touching it, consists of 4 finger-like plastic pieces which tend to break off with normal use. I dropped a star for this reason and considered dropping another since they seem to no longer make the best balls that used to come with the blaster and were available to purchase as replacements. Now they try to sell fuzzy tennis balls as the replacement and my dog destroys those in 2 minutes flat. The original, sturdy orange ball is amazing, but they tend to get lost and I'm very sorry we can't buy them. I wouldn't have purchased again, based on this, except for how much my dog loves this game when it's working. Nerf folks, please bring back the original orange blaster ball and I will buy as long as my dog lives!

Need to wear your dog out? This will definitely do that
Best toy for our grand fur baby who is very ball driven! He thinks you have to play with this with him all day long!!

Takes strength to use and the ball is flimsy. Usually functional.
The ball broke apart in less than an hour. Good thing we had several tennis balls off our own on hand. Pretty sure it's the fastest breaking tennis balls we've ever seen. The gun works most of the time but does seem to jam fairly often. It's pretty hard for children and some adults to load and use as the cocking mechanism and trigger are really stiff. You would think it could shoot further with the amount of tension it takes to use it and it seemed to lose some power within an hour of use. I think my arm was getting sore faster trying to use the gun more than just throwing the ball with my hand. Overall it's fairly functional, but a bit disappointing. But it generally did was it was intended to do most of the time. There is definitely room for improvement, but it's not bad enough to return. At least the kids still find it amusing, even if they usually need help to use it. Oh and the dog would fetch the ball, but she would get bored and sit waiting for it to get loaded sometimes. The dog actually avoided returning the ball to the person holding the gun several times. We agreed on 3 stars since it technically does what it's intended to do, it just needs some updating to do the job better. We are getting a chuck it stick for the kids since they have a lot of trouble using the gun on their own but also want to avoid touching drool covered tennis balls.

Broke on the second day
I had one of these awhile back for my previous dog and she loved it and it worked great for a long time. We gave it away when she passed. Now we got a new dog and I ordered this again. It arrived on a Friday afternoon and our new puppy loved it too. We used it a bit on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but on Sunday morning after just a few fires, it quit working. I can load a ball and pull it back, but pulling the trigger only results in a click. The mechanism does not fire. Disappointed that this broke after 2 days. I only used the ball that came with it and it stayed inside when not in use. I have sent Nerf a message about it and hope they can fix it or replace at no cost. So far disappointed, but hoping Nerf customer service comes through. Update: after contacting customer service, they sent me a replacement and it is working great. Upgraded from 1 to 5 stars for great service and now having something that works.

Doesn’t work
This thing sucks! I can’t get it to work without some sort of plunger to get the ball all the way down! It works that way, but other than that, hell no! Do not buy!

Great product but not for continuous use.
My dog loves this Nerf gun, keeps her amused for hours, unfortunately, used multiple times a day, the product only lasts approximately 6 months each time. I have gone through 3 of these in 18 months. I wrote to Nerf and they sent me a replacement, but this has now broken. The band inside is not strong enough to last. Quite expensive for what it is when only lasts for 6 months.
