Bought for personal use on my 2013 Ram pickup. No instructions were included. While having my truck oil changed I had my local mechanic install it. What a pain. He couldn't get any volume out of it, had to rework some wiring and fuses. It now works. This $20.00 item cost me $40.00+ for installation. This definitely is not a DIY for the average person. I just wanted a simple backup alarm to alert persons walking behind as I back out of blind parking spots. This is not the item for the average driver.My suggestion: let your trusted mechanic pick the right unit and do the installation for your personal vehicle. Don't be fooled by the low price and questionable reviews on Amazon.

Just what I wanted; the backup alert is the same volume that one would expect on a dump truck or construction vehicle. Nice and loud. I had bought a light bulb that sounds with the reverse light; I could not even hear that little thing from the drivers seat. I spliced two of the three wires going into my reverse light bulb.on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. I bought this because I am tired of so many people walking behind me in parking lots while I am backing up slowly and carefully for their benefit.
