Ok, so here's everything you need to know about this bar. I bought this easy curl bar based on the reviews, and I was not disappointed! The bar is sturdy and well made, the knurling is perfect (not too shallow and not too aggressive), and the bar was packaged well, so it arrived in great condition. The bar does appear to be painted and not powder coated. The black color appears to be a gloss black, so in case the paint ever does chip, I recommend buying a can of gloss black spray paint, spraying a little in the cap, and using a little paintbrush to touch it up (this is what I did for a trap bar of the same color that I ordered on Amazon that came a little beat up when I got it, and it worked great, you can't even tell where it was touched up). I ordered this specific bar because the grips appeared to be at the proper angles to be the most ergonomic (which a lot of the other bars I saw weren't), and when I received the bar, this was accurate (I have wrist issues, and this bar is very comfortable and easy on the wrists). I saw some reviews complaining that the collars loosen up on their own, but the collars I received have rubber gaskets on them which prevent the collars from loosening, so it looks like they updated the design. The threading is well machined, and the collars spin on and off very easily, and the bar diameter is accurate, so the weight plates slide on and off easily without excessive play. I've been getting massive pumps with this bar. Buy it, you won't regret it! Also, if Amazon wants to make me a Vine Reviewer, I would absolutely like to join (hintidy-hint-hint ;)

Great lifting bar, better than I thought it’d be.

Pros: -High quality finish which is true metal, doesn't flake easily, and rust resistant -Strong build that doesn't flex even fully loaded with 6 10lb weights on each side -Good curves in the right places to help with wrist pain for curls and skull crushers -Medium knurling which bites just enough to combat sweat but doesn't hurt Cons: -Undersized ends for Yes4All and CAP plates (.98" instead of 1.05") which makes the weight slop a bit -Kurl stops too early in the center of the bar which makes it hard to do more targeted tricep exercises

Easier on the wrists than a straight barbell. The spin locks take longer to change weights than spring locks if you change weights frequently.

Solid curl bar at a good price

The bar is solid and has good weight. Looks like a good quality product which I am sure will serve me for years to come. When I received the package, it was open on one end...the side and top tabs were totally gone. Luckily the clamps were screwed into the bar so it was one piece and so nothing fell out. Because it's a heavier product, perhaps reinforced packaging should be used for shipping.
