Question 1

You claim up to 21 decibels of reduction but I ordered these and the bag says 12 decibel reduction. Which is it?

Accepted Answer

Keep in mind that when eargasm says their "Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is 16 decibels" that does NOT mean it reduces the sound by 16dB. It actually means it reduces the sound by 4.5dB. A Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is used as follows: (NRR -7)/2 = total dB decrease/dampening from original exposure.

Question 2

I work as a flight attendant and would like to wear them while i am working. I am concered how well i can still hear people while wearing them

Accepted Answer

I work at a theme park that was doing fireworks all summer. I wore these while working at a counter with lots of people, while the fireworks were going off. I could hear my customers just fine while not getting nauseous from the sound of the fireworks. I also asked a coworker if I sounded like I was yelling when I talked. She said I sou ded normal.
I originally ordered Eargasms for my mom a few years ago because she has two diseases of the inner ear that affect her balance. They worked so well for her that I ordered them for myself and I have been very happy.

Question 3

Im in a band and go to a lot of shows. I need earplugs that have a high fidelity to the sound a a flat frequency response to hear parts. Will it work?

Accepted Answer

Hi Dee,Ryan from Eargasm here. If I understand your question correctly I believe our product is a great fit for your needs. If you want to be able to perform with your band and attend shows with earplugs that merely "lower the volume" on sound then you've come to the right place. Our earplugs preserve the full spectrum of sound so that you can still clearly hear all instruments and vocals from live music, while reducing noise levels. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me!Best,Ryan

Question 4

What is the preferred method of cleaning these?

Accepted Answer

Hi Mike!Ryan from Eargasm here, thanks for the question! We recommend that the earplugs are cleaned off with a damp cloth with either water or non-abrasive chemicals such as mild soap. We do not recommend submerging the earplug in water or exposing the filter to water or any other chemicals.Best,RyanFounder of Eargam
