Great Read!
I just picked this book randomly, and it was such a great surprise! The story is immense but so greatly spun that I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. Well worth the read and be careful to not fall in love with all of the characters.

An AMAZING book, but...
I have so few words because this story line, the characters, the surprise twists, everything is just EVERYTHING.However, I had to deduct a star because the grammatical errors are MANY. It really took away from the smoothness of the reading. It really needs to be edited again. There were so many errors. The other issue I had was sometimes the scenes jumped/were confusing. One minute they were in a heated "battle" scene or something similar and then the next they were having a long drawn out conversation before suddenly ending up back at the room or something. No explanation of how they got there really. It wasn't *bad* but it would make me have to go back and re-read to make sure I didn't miss something. I would have appreciated a little more information on what they were doing while they were talking to keep the flow of the scenes. But truly I loved the plot, the characters. It was refreshing to have the morally grey character be the female MC. Most I have read recently are the male MC.I also very much love how many of the chapters were written from the male MC's perspective. It was a really nice balance.Be warned this is not a stand alone, there's a cliff hanger, it's also very slow burn that is still burning at the end of this first book, it's also detailed and a bit confusing at times with complexities of the kingdoms and magic etc. It gets easier by the end to follow. I found there was just enough world building that is spread throughout the book, rather than dumped all at the beginning. Negatives of that being it's confusing for a bit, pros being the story progresses quickly while you're being immersed into the world. My only regret about reading this book is in doing so before the second one is out. I usually don't do that but I couldn't resist. It's definitely not a stand alone and I'm going to be anxiously awaiting the second book. I believe it will be even better than the first. I just have my fingers all crossed that it will be more carefully edited this time!

Great book!
I’ll be honest, it took the first 300 pages for me to get into the story but I’m so glad I stuck with it. There were quite a bit of grammatical errors along the way. The voicing is uniquely written, which I ending up liking. I also loved the tone for the book. I’m eager to see how the rest of the series plays out and would highly recommended reading this and sticking with it. It’s truly been worth it.

Um HELLO
I bought this book several months ago wanting to support an independently published author and honestly I forgot about it with all my other reads. BUT I finally picked it up a few days ago and GOOD LORD SHE ATE.5/5 stars. Everything I’ve wanted in an enemies to lovers. Guys, they hate eachother. Like actually hate eachother. The main character is eloquently sassy instead of bull headed and annoying. The character development and world building absolutely blew me away. I can not wait for book 2 to be delivered.I’m a huge fan of ACOTAR, FBAA, TOG, plus I’ve read so so so many enemies to lovers and this book TOPS THEM.I’ve seen a few reviews on spelling/grammar errors, just ignore them because the story? The characters? The hate? THE VIOLENCE? Worth it. Wendy Heiss is now one of my favorite authors.

200 +pages of world building
Man I want to like this book so bad . I haven’t finished it and I’m struggling to see the end. I really like snow and killian but it’s a very slow burn type of relationship and even then it’s more world building then plot .

long but worth it
This book is a beast. The characters are beyond enjoyable and it’s well written. This definitely needs an edit- words missing or switched- coupled with the style of writing dragged the pace down a bit. The plot could be hard to follow at certain points, however, that seems intentional with how clearly everything is spelled out at the end. This book is very long and the writing is great but dense, but it is a really great read. I will read the next one after I probably have a good cry when I look at it’s length. Definitely worth the read though and I highly recommend!

loved it
I really enjoyed this book, I was a bit hesitant when I started because the beginning was a bit long & confusing at first.. a ton of information tbh but once I got past all that and the story finally started moving along I couldn’t put it down.. I will say this book is fairly long. I love Snow & Killian and all their found family, it makes this book stand out. I have high hopes for this series and hope the next 2 books are just as good!I’m super surprised this book isn’t talked about more because wow. I find this better than Acotar (sue me) 💕

Twisty powerhouse
I almost set this one aside a couple of chapters in. I had been reading light and fluffy lately, and this seemed a serious commitment to remember names, history, and too much lore to wade through. I would have been wrong. I am completely obsessed with this novel. THE DETAIL! I feel like I've lived their lives and felt all the feels. Honestly, I never knew where the story was headed, and it was fascinating. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Great characters and plot, - 1 for typos
As said in the title, there are an inordinate amount of typing errors in the book. Most are punctuation or plain misspelling. It was enough of them to make it difficult to understand what was happening at times and take away focus. Still a great book overall. I think the characters are very well written and the story is exciting to follow as it unfolds.

Love this amazing story
This book is truly a masterpiece and it has everything I love in a good story starting with a badass, fiercely, strong, and unique morally grey main character, with an interesting plot and a plot twist that will leave you craving for more chapters of the story. Also with amazing and creative worldbuilding and a found family trope that I loved. I can’t wait to know what happens next in this story.

Brilliant storyline
What a storyline!4.5 🌟Snow started out as one of my favourite heroines ever. The snark and witty one liners are brilliant. However, I don't understand how a book with elements of incredibly good writing, can also have elements of incredibly bad writing. Sentences that don't make sense, weirdly phrased.. its almost as if some vets have been translated (badly). If this book was edited well (and frankly at least 100 pages shorter), it woukd be absolutely incredible. However, it's worth reading fir the storyline and the twists at the end alone.
