Great hoist at a great price
Have and use a bunch of these on a daily basis, can't beat the value, they operate very smoothly, go up and down quickly and have survived one of the most demanding work environments there is for tools...a sugar refinery. Like most small hoists they will get bound up and hard to operate when overloaded, so be sure what your lifting is under the limit.

Easy to lift and use
Portable, easy lifted over your head to connect to lift points. Lift speed is faster than expected. Quality seems good for the price. Picked up the back end of a snowmobile for servicing, worked very well. Only used it once so far

Well made and very easy to use
These chainfall hoists are great. They operate easily and hold their positions very well. After sitting under load for a while the downward chain often needs a quick tug to unlock, but it continues smoothly after that. I had been using a pair of ratcheting lever-chain hoists to lift a 220# hobby table to the ceiling in my basement. This meant reaching to the ceiling to operate the handles and leapfrogging safety chains on each side to guard against a hoist failure. I considered rigging a power winch, but that would have required a maze of pulleys and left me with a single point of failure. Now I have rigged four of these chainfall hoists, two on each side, and can raise and lower the table faster and much more easily. No flipping a pawl to reverse, no reaching up between the rafters and pipes to ratchet a few clicks at a time, no need for managing additional safety chains. The pair on each side are only 6 feet apart and can be operated together by one person to keep the table from twisting as it is lowered. Using four hoists is definitely overkill, but the installation was completed to existing lift points in minutes and the convenience and safety are well worth the expense.
