Works well as far as being able to achieve good working angles but it is impossible to get the knobs tight enough to hold the bow beyond 30 degrees or so. I discovered two ways to improve this problem. Either drill a small easily accessible hole slightly beloe the knob and use a punch or screwdriver to assist in extra tightening or with the vise empty remove the knob and with a drill reach through the threaded hole and drill a slight indentation for the rhrea#ed knob shaft to catch on. Do this in several places you expect to use. Use caution not to damage threads.in hole with drill bit. Time consuming and something the manufacturer should do but hey, its all I have....

Good product, decent value compared to others on the market.
Excellent product. Very simple and easy to use. A bit expensive for what it is...but compared to the other options out there (which are even MORE overpriced)...it's a bargain. The one problem I've had with it is that it's difficult to get enough pressure with the supplied knobs to support the bow with the string horizontal (the bow slowly creeps down). It has no issue whatsoever with vertical clamping. My solution was to remove the knob and weld on a nut...then use a small wrench to adjust that axis (the middle knob in the picture). This allows me to easily tighten it the exact amount necessary to hold my bows horizontally. An upgrade from Apple would be to supply T handles for tightening the different rotational axis...rather than the cheap (sharp...they cut into your hands when you try to apply any acceptable amount of pressure to tighten) plastic 3 point knobs they are using instead.Other than that, it would absolutely be a 5 star product.Note: The picture taken is prior to my modification of the vise.

works but
This device will let you work on your bow fairly well. The issue I had is that the inserts vere getting rusty and I lightly scrubbed and waxed them. Big mistake!!!! Now, it is very difficult to tighten the screws enough to stop the bow from rotating. It is difficult to get them tight enough by hand so I grab them with a pliers . A simple hole on the screw handles to insert a metal rod to facilitate tightening would probably suffice Otherwise, its a good device.

I like this vice it does what it's suppose too but the only thing I dont like about it. is the fact that I had to use pliers to tighten down the holding knobs. I couldnt get them tight enough with my hand to hold the bow in place so I had to tighten them down with pliers to get the bow to stay where I wanted it. other then that It works great.

Economy = Cheap Welds (Knob broke off and now can't tighten it) - Warranty Came Through
Update = I contacted the manufacturer and was able to get warranty on this item. Everything went smoothly and I have the part in hand. Took about 5 business days from claim to delivery. Very good customer service.Used a few times on different bows. The part that has the 3 holes to mount to a table, the screw hole that the knob turns into broke off. The welds gave out and now the item is useless. Will probably try to use JB Weld but with this being an all metal item, you would expect it to hold up with light tightening. Before this piece broke it worked well enough to hold the bow steady.

I regret this purchase.
Not really good at horizontally holding the bow. I regret this purchase, should've spent more money for a better bow vise.

I love this little vise. Greatly recommended for DIY compound bow owners
I really like this vise. The price was fair and it is built to last. I have had no issues at all with it slipping as other reviewers have mentioned. Just don't try to sand, smooth, oil,... or do anything to the inserts, leave them alone. There is no need to over tighten the knobs as well. I have never tightened them much over snug and grip my bow on the limb near the cam. Holding my bow perfectly horizontal this vise has never slipped on me. If your looking to use your bow as an armrest while in a vise, or your bow is ridiculously heavy, this one is not for you. Otherwise this vise is a great economical way for average people to have a bow vise. I mounted mine to a piece of 2x4 and clamp the board to my backbench as needed. This allows me to store the vise out of the way when not being used and also gives me greater flexibility for mounting my bow.

Disappointment: buy with caution
This was very cheaply made. All welds were simply tacked, not full welds. As you can see by the picture, five minutes of using this proved to be too much for it. Welds let loose and is no longer unusable, until I can have someone grind and reweld this back together. Very disappointing, wish I would have spent the money on a nice one.
