Great functioning knife
I love my NedFoss Mermaid pocket knife. This is the first NedFoss knife I have bought and I will be looking at more.It came plenty sharp out of the package for me and it make a great letter/package opener. I read some reviews about some people not liking the thumb flip on both sides of the knife with some recommended grinding the off side down so they would know how to hold the knife to open. I would not recommend this! Learn your knife! when you hold your knife for right handed people the belt clip is against your little finger, for left handed people the belt clip would be under your thumb. Also the off size thumb flip is how you close the knife one handed. Great balance, Great action, yes I would recommend.

So far, so good!
Blade was wonderfully sharpened, and while I may consider adjusting the pivot screw juuuuuuust a hair tighter, I like that this blade not only swings open effortlessly, but stays positively locked in place, and is easy to unlatch. I also like that this knife came with a torx wrench to make said adjustment; it also came with a pretty decent little case, though I find that to be far less useful. As an EDC knife, this'll be in my pocket all the time, but the case will certainly double nicely as an eyeglasses case, so I won't complain.I feel what I paid for this knife, is more than worth it. The finish is great, and the action is butter-smooth. Can't ask for much more, given the price range this knife falls into. I can't imagine I'll have any issues with this, but will try to update this review if anything important is needed. Upgrading from a GVDV knife that had a liner lock that would overshoot the blade, causing it to be stuck open (and would require the use of another flat tool to pop it loose).

Best bang for your buck self defense or collection knife
Great knife. This is my second knife from Nedfoss and I’m yet to be disappointed. Feels really well built, the flip open is crisp and easy, the blade comes razor sharp and the design is slim making it really comfortable and easy to keep in my pocket all day. My only issue with it is the blade doesn’t seem to hold its edge very well so I wouldn’t recommend as a hunting outdoors knife but makes and amazing self defense knife.

Ned Foss - Quality & value at an affordable price
I own knives in the $400+ range that are not the equal in quality of these Ned Foss affordable, budget knives. I own multiple Ned Foss pieces & will continue supporting this brand. If you are a knife connoisseur married to over-priced name-brand knives, I urge you to look at Ned Foss & try one out. You won't regret it.

A Knife Collector's Must Have!
A smartly modern redesign of the classic stelleto knife. It's a legal, flip blade; beautifully crafted by the Ned Foss collection. It's slimline easily makes it a an everyday carry. For me, it's a collectors dream.

Smooth and sharp
Very sturdy, seems well built, very smooth opening and locks up tightly, no play anywhere.

Opens fast like an assisted open
Just got this knife it is the Ned Foss mermaid in black. It is very sharp out of the box. And as you can see in the video it opens very fast but it is not an assisted open. It closes easily with one hand. For me it is not too heavy I have a lot heavier knives than this. The pocket clip is deep carry little to nothing sticks out above the top of your pocket. For $30 this knife is a steal....Update: after carrying the knife for a couple of days decided that it could really use some jimping on the flipper So you don't have to look down to see which way the knife is facing when opening. Overall still a quality knife still giving it five stars.
