Great investment
I am a fairly active 64 year old, but I have suffered from pain and discomfort in my lower back, which is largely due to disc problems. To relieve the problems I have undertaken various exercises and stretches. I saw the BackBaller on Dragons Den and could see the potential for my problems. I conducted some research and decided to take the plunge and buy one. I am so glad that I did. Firstly the unit is really robust and well constructed, but more importantly having followed the two minute back rolling regime a couple of times a day for just over a week, I have already noticed a massive improvement in my flexibility and a reduction in my pain and discomfort. I bought this solely for my back problems and I haven't used it for any other area, but I can see how it could help other muscle problems. It is still early days yet, but this is looking like £64 well spent. A massive thank you to inventor Noel Marshall.

Eases Muscle Pain.
I must admit that when I first took it out of the box, I wondered if I was getting value for money. I bought it having seen it on Dragons Den, and was further persuaded following a flare up of upper back pain. I don't get it very often, but it's miserable when it happens. I get more lower back pain in general, I had surgery on prolapsed discs some years back. This roller effective, and manages my condition well. I credit it with keeping me able to exercise and almost pain free. I use it two to three times a day for just a few minutes. When you compare the cost with paid visits to a physio (given that it's effective) the price is worth every penny. I would only suggest that a video instruction on a Web site or You Tube would be very helpful. Using it is not that comfortable, but I have got used to it and find the less outer clothing written the less uncomfortable it is. I highly recommend it, but take medical advice if you're unsure about adverse effects.

A complete method of torture at a torturous price!!!!!!!!
I bought this product for my wife and I to use to ease our lower back pain issue after seeing it on Dragon's Den taking into consideration the testimonial from an athlete. I am sure many purchases were made on the back of this TV show. It is impossible to get onto the apparatus without pain so we were both too afraid to use it in case it made our back pain worse and therefore decided to return the item. We packed the item as per the return instructions, headed to the post office to find out that as the product needs to be returned to Southern Ireland the cost of postage would be £34.95.....which was second class, trackable but not signed for. I have since looked on the item as if purchasing but can't find anything relating to the extortionate cost to return. I would appreciate someone from either Back Ballers Limited or Amazon to contact me.

Best Foam Roller Product Yet
For years I have used all kinds of massage tools from foam rollers to peanuts to various sized balls. All these things are great but this backballer really steps it up a notch. I have to admit I was sceptical about spending £55 when I couldn't see how it could be much better than a regular foam roller but you can really concentrate on the area you need to without having to worry about core strength or ending up on the other side of the room with a regular roller. It has really well designed teeth on the roller as well that dig in just the right amount unlike some other rollers that can be too aggressive, although it is easier to apply different levels of pressure with the backballer as it is more stable. All in all if you are serious about your recovery and mobility I would say grab yourself one of these

Understand what you are buying
Having seen the product on Dragons Den we purchased it. It seems that it has been rushed to market with completely inadequate instructions (none other than animated pictures of use). On dragons den it was shown briefly being used by an Olympic athlete and endorsed accordingly by her. Utube also has the creator demonstrating it ( I think). please understand just to use the product you have to be robust and with good core and all round strength and flexibilty. Getting on and off it for the back exercises can be painful and I would suggest dangerous in itself. The product should contain detailed explanations of use on each muscle group with warnings and advice. As an avid fitness, gym goer who has used physios and all sort of equipment for IT Bands, gluts etc this is just not good enough. Probably worst of all even when you get in the required position it takes great strength and control to effect the rolling movement required. They need to do something very soon about this or they will get a torrent of claims for injuries. Having said all that it is also extremely uncomfortable and you should wear a thick outer layer of "padding" which unfortunately might lessen its effectiveness! If you are a trained athlete and you know your strength , limitations and do's and dont's of exercise, such as an Olympic Athlete you will probably be okay!

It’s great for deep tissue massage
I bought this to work on deep muscle pain in my hips and back. It’s just like getting a deep tissue massage from the salon and gives a lot of pain relief. It’s really good and the thickness and sturdiness of the backballer is of high quality. You get a pamphlet included with lots of different exercises to try.

The jury is out yet
It appears to help with a lower back problem and help relax my calf muscles, but be warned it is uncomfortable to use , whilst doing the back exercise I found it very painful around my shoulder blades and later my wife pointed out I had bruises on my shoulders so now I do the exercise using one roller only.

The rollers felt too odd together for 6 ft plus people. I think the inception is good but the product could be longer and a bit wider. Wouldn’t recommend

A great product. Its very versatile compared to your standard rollers, and it digs deep, if your looking for that extra push. I was familiar with the product already because my brother had one, and I loved it. I eventually needed my own one, so here I am. From new, the roller is a bit hard at start. But it needed to broken in, which takes around a week, and feels right then. I wish their were more colour options (i.e., red, blue, etc.).

Bought this because I'm becoming obsessed with recovery from triathlon related training. This basically hits all the same parts a normal foam roller would hit in half the time. I'm still messing around with it and have found a lot of uses that you wouldn't be able to do on a normal foam roller.
