Reckless Abandon is the first book in the Reckless Hearts series. Each book is a stand alone with interconnectable characters that have a HEA. This duo author team is new to me and the writing is fantabulous! Such an emotional story full of heart and heat. Who doesn't love a brothers best friend trope?Wesley King and Sloane Barton grew up together since their parents are best friends and her brother is Wes's best friend. They've always had a close bond and now as teenagers those feelings have begun to change into more.Wes is pursuing modeling and Lo is a sweet, kind, old soul who draws people in. One summer spent together had them falling in love but having to sneak around behind her brothers back.There timing was always off of being in the right place but wrong time for years. When a secret is exposed, Lo, chooses her sister and family and moves across the country.Years later, Sloane, ends up in Wesley's bar and he's bound and determined that after 9 years without the love of his life things are going to start to go there way for once and he won't let her go without a fight.

This was my first LA Shaw book and it did not disappoint! I loved the "framily" feel to the book and the deep connection that was so easily felt between Wes and Sloan. I was laughing out loud at some parts ( the drink Lunas Nectar IYKYK), and swooning so hard throughout so much of the book. I also loved the past and present aspect of the book, it was so well done. ALSO the secret tattoo... SO. GOOD. I loved this a lot. I love a good its always been you vibe and man LA Shaw reallly does it so well!!4/5 stars2/5 spice

A solid read. Nothing overly special but at least I didn’t have to drag myself to the end. Might continue the series

Jess and Lauren are a writing duo that just gets better and better.Reckless Abandon is about Sloan and Wesley’s story. Sloan’s brother Eli is best friends’ with Wesley King. All of them grew up with each other and along the way Sloan started having romantic feelings towards her brother’s best friend. Wes didn’t realize the girl he took care of and watch grow up became everything he wanted and more. However, time was not on their side.I loved Wesley and Sloan individually and as a couple. Wesley! I love that man. He was perfect!! He loved his girl, he was supportive, honest, loyal and a hard worker. Sloan was so confident and knew what she wanted out of life. She was goal- oriented and had so many aspirations I just loved seeing her dreams play out. Her passion project was so different and unique and I loved how Wesley was very supportive of her new career endeavor. I loved the side characters too. All them were very interesting and had different personalities that I’m even more intrigued for their stories.“You’re all my dreams come true, my little Thea.”

L.A. Shaw makes me feel guilty. I fall in love with one Hero and then here they come with another one. Y'all. Wes. And the things he says!!! (I'm still a Greyson girl. I swear.)I really enjoyed this book and each time I read it, I find something else to be charmed by.Reckless Abandon is a brother's best friend romance, but honestly it's a story about how life, with no nefarious intentions, can just get in the way. The first summer after college Wes finally notices his best friend's younger sister, Sloan, but the circumstances of growing up keep them a part again and again. These two characters grow up together, root for each other and the chemistry is **chef's kiss**.Aside from the lovely spice between Wes and Lo, we get introduced to a great supporting cast of characters (already here for the back and forth between Parker and Ava) and FINALLY the origins of that damn sex club. 😏I won't say more about the plot, Brava to these romance readers turned writers. You've written a fun and sexy one.

Author built really lovable characters, but the plot line was severely lacking. It felt weird that she dropped her favorite author’s name in the book. I had to skip through so much.

I like the story, but was not a fan of the writing style or the dialogue between the characters. With that being said there were some great moments where story seemed to flow better, and there were a couple of cute moments involving get togethers with the family.

I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book I’ve read in years and already ordered Eli and Quinn’s story (#2) there were so many moments that took me by surprise here. I appreciated the spicy and my hubs too ;) yummy series!

I love angst and this has a bit of it.Well written, great time transitions. The main couple has a nice story and I’m more than ready for Quinn & Eli’s story.Maybe the only thing that I didn’t feel was the nickname of the heroine… it just didn’t seem natural. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Devoured this book in one this afternoon. A seriously fun will they, won't they love story with lots of little interesting side stories going on. So glad Zeus and Thea got their Happy Ever AfterHighly recommended

A good read about two childhood friends while also a brothers best friends story. The H is devoted from the start and these is some angst but it is pretty low level. A good read! Looking forward to Eli and Quinn’s story.

Amazing book. I red it in 3 days. Sloan and Wesley are dreamy and sexy and something to aspire to. I loved every sentence ❤️. It's the first book in a while I've really enjoyed. 😉. Dreams and fantasy do come true...
