Purchased this product as I felt my washing machine needed little hand in being kept clean . I live in an area with hard water and even though I use Calgon to soften the water I could see a buildup of lime on the base of my inner drum. After reading the instructions I simply poured one packet into the machine dispenser and set it on a normal 60° cotton wash. After it had finished I looked at the drum I could see it had moved some of the buildup and had also cleaned the rubber Seal as well. I repeated the process again and at the end it had removed the buildup on the drum and a small amount of buildup on the rubber seal. It’s worth noting that before use I had removed the drainage plug to check its condition and cleaned it and afterwards I checked the plug again and this was nice and clean. It’s very hard to know exactly how clean the inner part of the washing machine is but if I was to go by how clean the areas I can see are I would say it’s worked very well.

It works well on washing machines as a cleaner and dishwasher as well. However it can leave a smell which can affect the product. It has a good value for money however there is now cheaper cleaners on the market especially dishewashers. It is easy to use on appliances and does leave a nice shine to them as well.

Having owned 2 hotpoint washer dryers over the past 8 years, i was having lots of problems with these machines breaking down due to the massive amounts of fluff that would build up. This was happening on an almost monthly basis, no matter what product i used to try and clean the machines it never worked and always ended with a visit from an engineer. Then i was put onto this product by the last engineer who visited (He actually tried to charge me a tenner more than it cost on here!) and it has been an absolute godsend, my current machine was starting to show signs of it bunging up real bad (constant error codes, stopping mid wash, clothes soaking wet after drying), so, popped a couple of these sachets in on a 90 degree wash and now my machines running like new. Will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Very good keeps my washing machine clean

My Hoover washing machine is 4 years old, and is used, on average, once per week. I have never used any of these washing machine cleaning products. I just assumed the machine would clean itself, after all if it's cleaning the clothes, why is it not cleaning itself? Anyway, the other day I opened the filter and noticed some chalk-like deposits. I live in a hard water area and so assumed it was a result of that. I purchased these and emptied two sachets into the soap draw. The instructions said use one, but as it was the first ever clean I thought I would use two. I also used a 90 degree wash cycle. The results? Well, I do think some people here are highly exaggerating. There was some of that black mould build up in the rubber seal near the door before the cleaning. It was still there afterwards, though it did seem to be a little less. Has it removed the limescale inside the machine? Well, I have to assume it has and take the manufacturer's word for it. After all, I can only see inside the drum (which was not limed-scaled up to start with). I cannot see the innards of the machine, so who knows? But I purchased a box of 12 sachets and so I will continue to use one on a monthly basis as recommended. I also did not notice any "fresh" smell inside. Is it worth getting? Hard to say, but I suppose it can't do any harm.
