Ramsay's British Diecast Model Toy Catalogue (15th Edition) Paperback – 15 May 2015

I lost my Model Price guides and needed a new catalogue and saw no point in paying silly money for an old second hand one. I have had Ramsey’s once before but forgot the reason I didn’t like it so thought I’ll try it again, now I know why.This catalogue is interesting with a lot of information but is too specialized and too narrow in its covering of the models on the market. It basically covers models up till 1983 with a lot of detail and pictures. It's a bit confusing in as far it's not clear if the MPR applies to boxed versions only and my assumption is that it does. For Corgi and Dinky specialist and dealers it's a must have and it's the most comprehensive I've seen.The Market Price Range is high and in line with most catalogues based on pristine original models in pristine original boxes which probably rules out 90% of what’s on the market apart from specialist auctions.However,I find it disappointing that it ignores brands like, EFE, Corgi Classics (it explains it does), Corgi Original Omnibus, Days Gone (Lledo), Oxford Diescast, Vanguards, Sun Star, Modern Dinky and maybe more. These have been going for 30 years, so in my opinion it’s a bit high brow to discard them. More so as they dominate the markets and the majority of old original diecast on the markets are far from original or pristine and by their own grading systems worthless or about 10% of CV.Because of that I can't give it 5 stars. Maybe it’s ok for the specialist collector and dreamers, but for the smaller collectors without deep pockets or specialised interests it has little value in my opinion. My copy will go back on the market and I’ll wait till the Model Price Guide is available again.

Well packaged ,fast delivery. Have used Ramsay's guides for years, invaluable for tech info, colour variants and the like. Prices a good guide to rarity.

Really pleased, the man in doors was chuffed so mission accomplished. These books are great for people who collect die cast.

A good read for anybody who requires information on diecast models. I have had a good deal buying this almost new copy.
