must have for a hard to reach pc
if your PC is tucked away under a desk or hard to reach. this is a game changer.works great and have no coplaints over function. the motherboard headers come with spliters built in so you can still use the power switch on the case.1 complaint. it seems like the battery in the remote drains reguardless of use. i have to replace mines battery every couple months. would be nice if tools werent required to replace the battery.the tools are included however.

Straight forward, but not 100% working
So for me this was a simple install. I've built many PCs including the one I installed this on. It works! Range can be a bit dicey. I sit about 12 feet away from my PC and it can be hit or miss

Easy to install and use
I purchased this to avoid having to reach in to a confined space to turn on my computer due to the way the case had to be oriented where it sits. I had read the reviews that complained about battery life after my purchase, but it was an easy enough workaround if it became an issue. I can happily say that it did not. The original battery I placed in the remote is still kicking almost a month later. My only gripe with this device is that sometimes the remote sticks a bit and causes a longer beep tone from the speaker on the card, but that's not enough to justify taking away a star in my opinion. The speaker on the card can be disabled via a jumper and is on by default. Included manual has all the information on that. Definitely keep the included screwdriver though. That thing is tiny.

Definitly worth the $$$!
Really like this one, better quality than the different one I had. (2 wires broke when installing in newly built system). This has a nice remote, and a speaker on the circuit board, so it 'beeps' when you press the power button so you "know" it turned on. (other one before this, didn't beep, had to physically view the lights on the tower to see it if it was turned on). Quality is very good. Like the fact that it used a PCI slot, and not an onboard USB connection. (doing that means 2 USB ports are used, and you'd have to be careful not to bend anything). So over all, I give it 5 stars ***** out of 5.

REVIEW UPDATE (LOWERING SCORE AGAIN) It works!!!! Helpful tips included below.
Update 2: I just had to change the battery after minimal use after like two weeks. Why didn't you just put a AA battery in or something that lasts longer if it's so power-consuming? Make the remote bigger if you have to. It doesn't have to be tiny. It's a pain and expensive to replace the battery so often. Also, why not include a NORMAL screw like a Philips screw?Update: The warnings about the battery were true. Only using this device a couple of months and the battery is flat dead (keep in mind it's just a short radio wave blast to turn on the PC. I use Windows to shut it down). Ridiculous battery life.Luckily, they included a tiny star screwdriver to change the battery.Sigh...Original Review:I moved my PC tower to a secluded section of my closet because my computer is loud. I built an enclosure around it so contorting my body to turn it on each night was out of the question. I got this remote control and it's AWESOME. I'm cautiously optimistic given the other reviews about the battery life but fortunately I have some on hand.Gripe: Don't put a screw to hold the battery cover on. It's a pain to remove. Especially since it's a star type instead of a normal screwdriver. Fortunately, they included the star screw driver, otherwise there would be a lot of slapping in this review. :o)I'll update the review if anything changes, but for now, it works! Some hopefully helpful notes: You can find your motherboard manual online. When plugging in the device's power cables to the motherboard, line up the little triangle symbols (triangle = power, the other one is ground). If there is already a power cable plugged into the pins on the motherboard, don't panic, that's what that little offshoot connector is for (I didn't have this issue on the reset cable, only the power one). Just plug the existing power cable into the offshoot cable on the device wire, and then plug that wire into the motherboard. Voila!!

Works good
Did not know you could get a remote for your computer. Installed it in my home theater computer. Works good!

Nice device - partially works.
It is very easy to install. Idk what adhesion they could be talking about. The only issue I have is that when I got the product the power wires do not work. I had to wire it using the reset wires which is fine for me as my case does not have a reset button but for someone else it might be a problem. There’s a chance you’ll get it and it not work.

Best $45 I spent on my computer
Only issue I had with this piece was that the reset cables and their pins weren't fully assembled. For me, not a big deal. I only bought this for the convenience of being able to turn my home-theatre PC on/off from my couch (yes I'm lazy haha). Other than that, it works perfectly and I even just ordered another one for my friend's computer!
