As a Reiki practitioner and "master" since 1990 I've had constant niggling questions about Reiki as it's taught in the West. Having studied Japanese martial arts, the combination of soft, "healie feelie" approach and strict, fairly narrow range of hand positions has seemed incomplete, as if the whole story has not been told.Now this is a very thin book and it certainly not the whole text of Dr Usui's student handbook, but it is packed with dense useable information, attitudes, pre-treatment preparation and other techniques that I have found myself incorporating intuitively from other disciplines I've met with along the way.Transcribed,edited and annotated by a German married to a Japanese, ably assisted by her relatives, it has had to suffer further translation into English but, for the student of a deeper truth, it offers a gateway of insight to a much more authentic and profound experience of Reiki practice for the beginner as well as masters of the Usui Reiki Ryoho and other lineages.

This book is the book to buy if you want clear and simple information about the original Usui Reiki Ryoho. This book more easily approachable than most on the topic because is extremely well written by Frank Arjava Petter. It has clear pictures of treatment hand positions as well as physiology and information that will deepen your knowledge about Reiki for sure. A must read for every practitioner from student to Master.

Great read. Short but packed with loads of original Reiki thinking and advice, directly from Dr. Usui. I found that each read brings out more understanding of Reiki, it's energy and how this can help others heal themselves. Worth dedicating time to understand.

That's a really precious book, to those interested in the ancient Reiki techniques. Also, it is very appreciable the point of view of the author that explain very well the origin of Reiki. Well done!! :)

Easy to read and understand and lots of hand positions to work on.

Iv never fully read most of my books, I’m trying to do reiki more often,it’s my hobby. I like the spine part best as I luv chiropractor info. I know everything as i sat my master years ago. It’s good to read again any info Iv not took in.

Excellent book giving a very comprehensive introduction to Mikao Usui's Reiki techniques with hand positions and descriptions. A bit like a "Manual" for those practicing Reiki. If you're new to Reiki, other books are probably better as an introduction to the concept of Reiki, e.g. research Penelope Quest.
