Purchased this to plug into a speaker to play via 3.5mm aux cable. It works well when headphones are plugged in, it’s reasonably loud. It’s not massively loud when plugged into the speaker even with the ‘hi-volume boost’ button pressed.Looks and feels good, it’s quite lightweight. The anti-skip function seems decent as the cd didn’t jump when I accidentally knocked the player off a table onto (a carpeted) floor. Not sure what the battery life is like as I’ve only used it plugged into a socket.Headphones which come with this work well, comes with a soft carry-case too.Downside - tiny tiny tiny writing on the buttons and screen… or maybe I’m just getting old!Overall I’m happy with it, it does what I wanted it for

As someone who grew up in the 1980s and '90s, I enjoy listening to CDs (and still buy many). My 1990s era personal CD player does not play mp3 discs or have battery charging mode so I bought this.Pros: ESP to stop discs skipping as you move around, NiMH batteries supplied, USB cable (for charging only) supplied, good quality earbuds supplied, neoprene zip case supplied, made by well established Japanese audio company, good sound quality (I use Sennheiser hi-fi headphones), clear LCD display.Cons: none!Note! to another reviewer who claimed sound output was "too low" please press and hold x-bass button untill "hi vol" appears on LCD display, this will solve the problem!!!

Beautiful item with a good feel to it. But the dynamic range is poor and the rechargeable batteries don’t last anywhere near the 8 hours it says in the handbook.

This is the best portable cd player you can buy new in 2023. Good build quality from a known brand.

The player looks good but, like other reviewers, the volume is low. Ordered in blue but the case that came with it is red. Would have been better if the case had matched the colour of the player.
