Well built, strong, one got drop to basement @ 2 ft or so. Never broke or crack on its death fall. The square shape actually stores together easier than the round ones. They are unfinished, where a person can choose the own method of finish. I, myself chose Linseed Oil and did a rub finish. It brings the natural grain of the wood. Also, I found some felt on Amazon and glued a pad on the bottom of them.

These are beautiful and good quality wooden pencil holders. Happy with my order.
