I had always wondered for the longest time why studio lights have never really changed. Now we did get LED's (love them or hate them) and those did contribute to a lot of color adjustment and range, but they really didnt do anything for conveince or form factor. You still had stands, mounts, curtains, light boxes and more to deal with. Which made things actually more complex as now you have to deal with LED's short throw. So the market was ripe for some evolution. Oddly enough this is exactly what I needed for quick light adjustment and moving shots. At first it didnt seem clear how useful this would be outside of the studio, but as Ive used it more and more across various locations and scenes its pretty much a necessity to have now a days for my photography. You can easily move light where you want but just holding it. You can get some amazing creative shots with light coming from any direction. It gets blazingly bright and throws light very far (for LED). Its also incredibly compact compared to any light/stand/reflector setup. Its truly allowed me to get some impossible otherwise shots. So with all that said let me lay out the pros/consPros:-Impossibly bright light where ever you want or need it, instantly-Compact easy to carry form factor-Adjustable color temps and brightness-Great build quality-Long battery life (much longer than I anticipated)Cons:-Gets heavy when holding to for awhile for a shot-Fans get loud so not great for video unless used further away-Comes with a questionably useful reflectorAll in all this thing has brought so many of my photos to a new level of which I never thought Id achieve with simple flashes or even with complex studio setups. Its so simple yet so amazing!

The ZHIYUN FIVERAY F100 Combo RGB Light Wand is a great all-in-one accent light kit for your on-the-go needs. It’s compact but does have some weight to it. Everything including all accessories fits in the included bag. This light wand gets BRIGHT and the versatility of all the color combinations helps you get that perfect lighting effect that you are looking for. I like that it has a built-in battery or you can keep it plugged in via USB-C or the AC Power adapter as well. What else I like about this is that it can be mounted on a stand or tripod with the ¼ screw anchor on the bottom. The small LED screen tells you all you need to know about the brightness, color temp, and lighting mode. The dial control is easy enough to learn and use. Even if you don’t read the instructions, just by clicking around you will likely understand how to work it. The included attachments are easy enough to put on and take off and add to the functionality and versatility of this compact all-in-one system. Lastly, I’m sure the price is not what you would want to pay, but the quality and everything you get in this package help to cut back on the number of “Things” you will need to buy if you were to get a cheaper branded light wand. Also, the quality of light output and color richness will not be as good with those cheaper models. Lastly, you should be able to rely on this lasting for a while and not have to worry about purchasing replacements like those cheaper brands. All in all, this is an excellent lighting kit, and when on sale, it’s an excellent buy as well!

This is an incredible light wand that does everything it says and more. While it can take a minute to learn how to use properly, there is an endless range of versatility that this light provides that you can't get in a lot of other lights you might be looking at. This light comes with a carrying case, diffuse cover, barn door adjustments, an egg crate, a USB-C charging cable, an AC Power Adapter (for powering it continuously or for charging instead of the USB-C cable), and the manuals.The light itself is not very long, maybe about 2' long at the most. The bar is also narrow, while still having plenty of room for your physical button light adjustments, the menu display, and all the built-in cooling fans. On the bottom there is also a mounting thread for attaching to tripods or boom arms. For comfort, there is a slightly padded faux leather style grip on the bottom of the light bar. The light bar itself is lightweight enough to carry around and use in your hand, but despite only weighing a couple pounds, it can begin to feel heavier if used for prolonged periods of time.As far as the performance of the light, it is INCREDIBLE. Especially in an indoor environment for studio setups for doing online streaming or video content creation, this light has done more for me than my old softbox lighting kit I had been using previously. Additionally, I like to make short films in my spare time, and this light bar has been an incredible plus to have as it has really benefited me when I needed to adjust the lighting for the scenes I was filming. The light is also versatile enough that I can adjust the light to almost any color temperature I may need, as well as having lots of brightness control, and even using special built-in FX modes such as a flicking candle light, a TV light flashing in a dark room, etc. IT'S SO GOOD. Not to mention you can also use it for any color on the color spectrum for mood/ambient lighting. I love this light so much! It also gets INCREDIBLY bright when using the default color temperature options, at which point the fans will kick on, but not loud enough to be noticed when filming. One thing to mention, however, is while it can get incredibly bright, those options are limited to the color temp modes and if using spectrum color settings, the max brightness will be much lower- still bright, but not as much.However, now we are going to talk about the one thing I don't like- the controls. The controls can be incredibly tedious to use when learning it for the first time, as well as the adjustment wheel being incredibly sensitive and easy to move even if you barely touch it. The wheel also acts as a 4-way directional pad style control which can also be a nuisance. For example, clicking the wheel to the left, right, up, or down toggle different lighting scenarios at which point you can then turn the wheel to make further adjustments. The problem is that each mode has 2-3 things that can be adjusted, but instead of pressing down again to go to the next setting in the next level, you have to press the same direction as the panel you are currently using. For example, in order to use different color spectrum options you press the wheel down to go to the color settings, but in order to change the saturation and brightness levels, you have to press down again to move up and down the list. However, for special effects, you go there by pressing right on the wheel, and to adjust its brightness level means pressing "right" again to move down its list, and the same goes for the left for the main 2700k-6200k color temperatures which uses "left" to move up and down its list. Pressing up is to activate max brightness for the color temp settings if you don’t want to do it manually. Whenever you are adjusting the temps, percentages, etc on any of the settings requires moving the wheel, but it is very loose/sensitive and can easily get adjusted without you purposely trying to do so. I know I probably made all of that sound confusing, but you'll understand what I mean if you decide to get it yourself.Overall, this is an incredibly useful light and while I wish the controls were a little more intuitive and simple, I cannot fault the functionality of this light and the incredible versatility and durability that it provides. I would highly recommend it for any one looking to upgrade their setups/lighting equipment.

I love the settings on this. You can easily use it for photography lighting, Motion picture background lighting such as candlelight, watching tv, lightning and other really cool settings. The package comes in a very cool carrying case with all the instructions you will need. I loved the brightness. (Unlike any other light I have). It's ready to use right out of the box. It is slightly heavy so I suggest you get a strap you can attach to the screw on the bottom if you're going to be using it without a base, but you can also attach it to a tripod. You can use it for raves and parties too! People have approached me to ask me, where did you get that!!

This thing is too cool. My kids keep trying to steal it from me lol. Its probably way too advanced for me lol, but we have fun with it all the same. I could just imagine what awesome features im missing out on though! Heres to learning!
