4M Kidzlabs Pocket Volcano, DIY STEM Chemistry Geology Lab Experiment - Educational Gift, For Boys & Girls Ages 5+

We bought this after losing ours after 14 years. This thing will last forever if your kids don't lose lose it :) Works great with the Sesame Street brand Fizzy Tub Colors. They fit great, and cost around $5-8 for 150 fizzies. When used the bath or sink the red ones quite similar to an underwater volcano. Or use with baking soda and vinegar with red food coloring in a shallow dish for tabletop fun.

This is a neat product to use to teach children about volcanos. My son was so excited to start doing experiments with this product unfortunately it was lost. The volcano size is the only downside it’s very easy to be misplaced.

This is simple and small, but is budget priced, and easy to use. Right now my 5 year old boys love playing with it in the bath with their bath dropz (which are the perfect size to fit in this). We used the baking soda/vinegar, but it seemed to fizzle out well. It's just plastic, so we can try lots of different ingredients inside of it to have fun. Perhaps we'll try the larger one at some point.

When it says pocket volcano it means pocket volcano. It is so small it can fit in your jean pocket. I was trying to find something to use for my classroom. This worked, but was just hoping for a bit bigger.

Bought this specifically for a volcano loving 4 year old. It was an instant hit. A few weeks later he is still carrying it with him everywhere. The "volcano" action is but a few seconds but it does work. Mostly it's a hit in the bathtub. But outside of that it's a constant companion whether sitting beside him for breakfast or playing with his dinosaurs. One big word of caution. Have to buy two of everything for the younger, almost three year old, brother. brother is still putting things absentmindedly in his mouth. It's much too big to swallow but little brother put the wide part in his mouth and got it stuck behind his teeth. I was panicked working it out from behind the teeth. After that episode the two year old's volcano was quickly discarded although he is staying far from his older brothers.

I debated wether I should give this four or five stars. I am happy with it. However; you have to keep in mind you're getting what you pay for which is a very small volcano that you fill with baking soda and vinegar. The quality is good. The package clearly states "pocket volcano" so I knew it would be tiny but it was even smaller than I expected. Not the sellers fault so I opted for a five star rating. It was a little tedious to deal with. I had a difficult time getting the slots and holes to line up well after it was filled with baking soda. I got it to work a couple of times and decided to cut my losses and just dump baking soda into the top and dump vinegar on it. The kids liked it better that way. They didn't have to wait as long and they felt like it made more lava. It's a good learning tool just be sure to read the dimensions and get your patience ready to twist it back together a million times.

I received this toy in the mail today and I was shocked at how tiny it was. Apparently the dimensions listed for the product include all the packaging, like the cardboard backing and the blister pack. The dimensions are more like 2 x 2 x 2.5. I'm keeping it for my son's birthday, but if I had to purchase a toy volcano again, I'd search around for a different one.As an addendum, the company that sells this product got in contact with me and offered me a full refund as well as promising to revise the product dimensions. I am satisfied with their customer service department.

Awesome product. We followed the suggestion of the another poster and added a drop of dish soap and food coloring. This made it even better! Easy to use and a lot of fun. My son is a volcano enthusiast and has used this product at least ten times and enjoys it every time as much as the third. Great price and nice quality too. My only negative comment is that the bottom is a little hard to attach' definitely not impossible, but a younger child might need assistance.
